By doing so you become the worshipper of Alakshmi — the Goddess of Inauspiciousness. Deserve before you desire. If you truly deserve a certain object or attainment, it will be drawn to you like a piece of iron to a magnet. . *Ishavasya Upanishad gives the mystic secret of prosperity: "Tena Tyaktena Bhunjithah Magridhah Kasyaswid Dhanam.” { Renounce and enjoy. Do not covet anyone's wealth. } Renunciation is the secret form of worshipping the Goddess of Prosperity. Renounce the sense of egoism, the sense of “mine-ness," the sense of possession. You will then live in this world with an increasing joy of inward freedom. All forms of wealth will then flow to you without causing any mental agitation. . * If you turn to any object, considering it as different from the Self, you will be rejected by that object. Such is the declaration of Brihadaranyaka Upanishad. Do not develop the deep-rooted erroneous notion that your happiness depends upon an object, but gain an insight into the fact that you are essentially blissful; being the Self, you are ever free of dependence on objects. Thus, if your attitude towards objects is permeated by the vision of inward freedom of the self, you will not be deceived by them.
