Veratus is my secret boss prediction for chapters 5. Made before Chapters 3 and 4 came out.

Okay so I may or may not be working on drawing some of my secret bosses with yours (cough cough Veratus cough cough Quiddo), but since scrolling through your blog and seeing other people ask how your bosses would react to theirs, I gotta know.

How would your secret bosses react to Bitsy, Elymas, and Veratus?

Also i already saw your drawing, and i loved it!!

Let's start with Woostern! Lucky for Bitsy, Woostern doesn't watch Tv at all! (Unexpected, right?) If Woostern knew about the dark twisted stuff she was doing back then she'd be in a pickle. Also, that mantle... Looks familiar to her. About Elymas! Woostern has always been neutral about religion n' stuff so i don't think she'd understand anything Elymas has to say, but her lil' FRIEND may do! And as for Veratus... Shouldn't have brought a sword to a GUN FIGHT... Wait, she doesn't have a gun.

Bonslick! Well, as usual he flirts and tries to look cool in front of evrey pretty woman he sees so yeah, Bitsy. He doesn't care about any religion related stuff either, so yeah he ain't joining Elymas' cult, bro literally just wants to beat up Gaster. And Veratus, well uh, he's kinda like a royal guard of some sort, right...? Well Bonslick doesn't really get along with the po-po so... YOU'LL NEVER TAKE HIM ALIVE, RAT!!

Left-E!! Luckily there is NO data of Bitsy on his criminal database, but as SOON as she starts doing creepy stuff in front of children she's OUT. Ice-E's P"E"ZZA doesn't allow crazy cultleaders to enter the establishment anymore, sorry Elymas. And Veratus... Reformed by the criminal, and now loyal to the criminal, i think this interacion would go wrong in several ways.

Sonatta! Well, besides her creepy behavior sometimes, she seems like a nice friend to take a cup of tea with! I think she'd outright disagree with Elymas, the angel exists! They just haven't showed up yet... And as for Veratus, i think they could probably get along! Considering she also came from a very similar dark world.

Quiddo! Quiddo is very Quiddo to everyone, no matter their multiple eyes, religion, or if they just outright hate Quiddo! Now. Quiller. Disturbing the minds of innocent children may be one of the most inoffensive things Quiller has ever seen, not much to add onto that. If Elymas ever saw half of what Quiller has seen, they'd realize there is no entity in this world or any other that's worth putting your faith on, not even yourself, on Quiller's mind, they should give up. And Veratus, on Quiller's eyes, is just another decomposing corpse.

Shikari. She never watched kids cartoons or whatever, but secretly she wishes to have grown up watching a show like Bitsy's, specially after she went insane, that would've rocked. She does not care about religion either, for what she knows she might be the devil incarnated so yeah, good luck trying to convert her Elymas. And as for Veratus! Oh she's for sure fighting him, even if it isn't a fair or entertaining fight, but just because he's loyal to HIM. Veratus might be a dead rat, but who says Shikari can't kill what's already dead?

Chapter 5 Secret Boss Prediction

Ohohohoh boy! Finally got to this one. I've been just sort ruminating on this boss for a while. The only thing I knew for the longest time is I'm at least 60% confident that chapter 5 will happen in the Flower Shop? But then what could be abandoned, discarded, or unwanted in a greenhouse/flower shop? Weeds? Mushrooms? Well I guess? Lotta flowers and though the mushroom idea was enticing at first, I couldn't wrap my head around a good idea for it. There was also the thing with this boss likely having the blue soul mode, and possibly having a reference or allusion to Papyrus (or Sans ig but Paps uses the blue soul mode first). But then also also with this being Asgore's flower shop and Asriel possibly being involved, there's the chance it could be based on Flowery, but then- And you can start to see why this took me so long.

EVENTUALLY, I came up with the idea of an abandoned toy soldier, lost among the plants and eventually taken over by them. There was also some talk about it being a nutcracker or garden gnome instead, but toy solider won over. Nutcracker felt too similar to Spamton and I just couldn't really get the garden gnome to vibe right. Anyways! Like two, three weeks ago I managed to sketch a design I kinda liked before trying to think on it more. Still not the boss I'm proudest off, but everyone, met The Great and Mighty Veratus! (Name subject to change if I can find a better one.)

Veratus, from verrat (German for traitor), ratus (latin for rat) and a corruption of veritas (truth). I think the thing I was struggling with for the longest time was the name. It needed to fit with the other names, and also sound good with the title of "The Great" (because Papyrus reference). Like I mentioned before though, that name is subject to change if I come up with something better.

Like I've mentioned with the other two, I know this is no where close to what we'll actually get, but all of this is just for fun and so I have some secret bosses to draw my Junior Secret Squad kiddies with. Once we DO finally get chapter 5, Veratus will likely just become one of the secret bosses of Fool's Fate.

Now, backstory under the cut.

A solider from a distant land, Veratus found himself stranded in this dark world after the Great Divide. His king and fell soldiers in arms falling back and leaving him for dead. At the mercy of the Flower Kingdom's new ruler and its army.

Luckily for Veratus, the Knight chose not to bother killing the lone soldier, thinking that the side effects of the Divide would render the rat to stone soon. Yet for some reason, Veratus did not become stone...

Alone and outcast in a world not his own, Veratus was eventually found by a man. A strange someone whom some had theorized brought forth the Great Divide. The man cast pity on Veratus, and offered the stranded soldier his help. The opportunity to blend into this world and infiltrate Knight's army in exchange for his loyalty and help getting close to Knight. Veratus agreed.

Veratus's fur became overtaken with moss and his body with vines, though it might have been painful it did make him look like a rather convincing part of this floral Dark World. In addition to this transformation, the man also opened Veratus's mind to the reality of his existence, as the man had with the rest of his pawns.

Veratus was able to infiltrate Knight's army and climb up the ranks thanks to the assistance of the man, only to be left behind and forgotten once again once the man was able to get close to his true target. Disappearing and leaving a Roaring Knight in his place. Without the man, the cracks in Veratus's facade began to show and it didn't take long for the rat to be ratting out as a rat. the Knight's army tried to kill him, but something kept him from falling. The plants consuming his body wouldn't let him die. So instead, the opposing army cast the lone solider out. Exiling him back to a life of solitude.

Until another knight and their friends arrived in the kingdom...

Full name: Wilbur Derek Dreemurr

B-Day: February 18th 2122

Adopted son of Asgore. He doesn't know his birth parents.

Lives with his Papa Asgore and Uncle Exriel, but has a close relationship with Noelle as well, who Asgore considers like a daughter.

Timid, kind, and soft spoken. Much like his dad.

Wilbur's hair and eyes change color with his emotions. Purple for fear, red for anger, dark blue for sadness, etc.

His soul trait is Patience.

Wilbur uses string magic like Chicago, though Wilbur is much more confident in his magic than Chicago.

Has a strong special interest in mushrooms and fungi.

In addition to foraging for mushrooms, Wilbur also forages and journals other plants he forages and finds on walks.

Because of this, Wilbur has a great collection of journals and notebooks.

Was born without his right arm and wears a prosthetic

Also has two additional pairs of arms, but since they're small and generally useless, he just tucks them under his shirt.

Wilbur's eyebrows are actually a second pair of eyes.

Wilbur's Dark World weapon class is a staff with his base weapon being based off a small dried mushroom charm Wilbur carries on him.

His Dark World appearance is akin to a wizard or a druid. Likely druid as he uses plant or mushroom based magic.

Wilbur's Dark World appearance shares a color palette with Veratus.

Veratus is Wilbur's secret boss companion, and self appointed body guard. Wilbur doesn't particularly want this but boy beat him in battle and now the rat has sworn his life to Wilbur.

Britni's other best friend is Naomi. She doesn't mind the fish's rowdy nature and in fact finds it endearing.

Outside the Junior Secret Squad, Wilbur's only "friends" are his uncle and Ms. Noelle. He's a rather sheltered kid

Though Wilbur calls Exriel his "uncle", Exriel is actually his much older siblings, same with Asriel and Chara.

Wilbur is terrible at both cooking and baking. Most dishes he tries to make end up in the fire extinguisher being pulled out.

Wilbur knows how to ballroom dance. He's particularly fond of the waltz

So I've found there's some other secret bosses who share traits with mine, and by that I mean I was well aware of that when it comes to Bitsy and Elymas when I made them, but didn't expect it as much with Veratus.

So I decided to draw my bosses with other people's bosses! Starting with Veratus! (Ironic as he's the last of my secret bosses I made for a Deltarune prediction. Any others I make will be for Fool's Fate.)

First we've got Veratus with @glitch-the-artist's toy solider with blue soul mode secret boss, Marchon. They and Veratus can bond over... wind up keys I guess? Veratus does have a wind up key on his back that just isn't often shown unless he's facing backwards. It starts winding the other direction whenever he... steps out of line, to speak. (Fun fact, Veratus also has a rattail braid that can be see from his back too. Get it? Because, because he's a rat and-)

Next is Veratus with @mercair's Quiddo, who might not seem in anyway related to Veratus, however both of them originate from Dark World's that aren't the one's they're found in, and get overtaken by plants or fungi.

Anyways, hope you two enjoy and who should I draw my bosses with next? I know there's like, loads of abandoned cartoon Chapter 3 bosses, same with fallen angel Chapter 4 bosses so it's hard to narrow down who to draw Bitsy and Elymas with.

Day 260 of drawing Junior Secret Squad until Chapter 3

Pretty much since I came up with Wilbur and the final three secret bosses, I found it ironic that Bitsy was paired with Naomi and Veratus with Wilbur, when the secret bosses seem to much better match the personalities of the other's kid. But then also Elymas uses the green soul mode and has an Undying form, and thus could also be paired with Naomi by that logic

Even still, I don't think I'd change the match ups I already have. I think the contrast is a good thing and so each JSS member and their secret boss compliment each other nicely.
