I hate when the Beatles are considered “white people music”…
I don’t know about you all, but in my life (lol) quite a few people have said that. It’s really a stupid claim for loads of reasons. Yes, all the members are white but that doesn’t mean it’s “white people music.”
For example, there are SO many Poc in the Beatles Fandom from all over the world. There always have been!
((I even have friends from Palestine (West Bank) who have heard the Beatles! Even there, under occupation, excitement was all over when a Beatles song would play!!))
Plus, the Beatles were inspired by a lot of artists. Sure, Elvis Presley is a big one, but there were also Little Richard, The Ronnettes, and so many other black musicans! Not to forget, all of the songs Elvis sang we’re mostly written by Black musicians, but only Whites were allowed to have their music on radios.
Most of the Beatles’ songs were also inspired by Rhythm and Blues—which was unarguably invented by African Americans! Paul learned his iconic “screams” by mimicking Little Richard! What else is there to say?
How on earth can you say the Beatles are for white people? That’s extremely stupid especially considering the fact that they were heavily inspired by wonderful black musicans of the 1950s and 1960s, and that so many of their fans aren’t white!!!
Sorry this is a bit unorganised and all over the place!! Please feel free to add anyting if I’ve forgotten!!!

“It all started for the Ronettes and me in 1961 while we were waiting in line outside trying to get into the hottest club in the hemisphere, the Peppermint Lounge. The manager came outside looking for the dancers he hired, saw us and yelled, “Girls get in here, you’re late!” We were mistaken for the house dancers and rushed inside to the bandstand.” -Ronnie
