Don't Listen To the Naysayers

Hi Guys, this week I have decided to make my message an inspirational quote by Arnold Shwartzenegger. It was part of a university graduation speach that he gave at USC, the topic was the 6 rules of success. the following was his 4th rule and regards never taking the words of others seriously if they put you down, when you know what you are saying is true.

Rule number four: Don't listen to the naysayers. How many times have you heard that you can't do this and you can't do that and it's never been done before? Just imagine if Bill Gates had quit when people said it can't be done.

I hear this all the time. As a matter of fact, I love it when someone says that no one has ever done this before, because then when I do it that means that I'm the first one that has done it. So pay no attention to the people that say it can't be done.

I remember my mother-in-law, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, when she started Special Olympics in 1968 people said that it would not work. The experts, the doctors that specialized in mental disabilities and mental retardation said, "It can't be done. You can't bring people out of their institutions. You can't make them participate in sports, in jumping and swimming and in running. They will hurt themselves, they will hurt each other, they will drown in the pool."

Well, let me tell you something. Now, 40 years later, Special Olympics is one of the greatest organizations, in 164 countries, dedicated to people with mental disabilities and that are intellectually challenged.

And she did not take no for an answer. And the same is when you look at Barack Obama. I mean, imagine, if he would have listened. If he would have listened to the naysayers he would have never run for president. People said it couldn't be done, that he couldn't get elected, that he couldn't beat Hillary Clinton, that he would never win the general election.

But he followed his own heart, he didn't listen to the "You can't," and he changed the course of American history.

So over and over you see that. If I would have listened to the naysayers I would still be in the Austrian Alps yodeling. I would never have come to America. I would have never met my wonderful wife Maria Shriver, I would have never had the wonderful four kids, I would have never done Terminator, and I wouldn't be standing here in front of you today as governor of the greatest state of the greatest country in the world.

So I never listen that, "You can't." I always listen to myself and say, "Yes, you can."

In closing I think this is very relevent for us here in VeMMA because as all of us know we all get people who not only lack the vision but also find it nessesary to put us down. So going into the week ahead, just stick to your guns and always remain possitive.

Vitamins - A Tale of Unfortunate Circumstances

Certain words seem to stir up horrible images in our mind and send shivers down our spine. Words like, "responsibility", and, "patience", and, "nutrition". In truth these only have that effect on us because somewhere in the course of our lives we've in all likelihood had somebody trying to beat these concepts into our minds with a sledgehammer, a metaphorical sledgehammer of course.

As we get older we realize that these words aren't actually so bad and slowly start to embrace them. Take the last one for example, "nutrition", when you first hear it you picture broccoli, and brussel sprouts, and those weird things you see in the supermarket but completely ignore, but eating a well balanced, nutritious diet is easier than one might think.

So you decide to go shopping and fill your trolley with a bunch of healthy looking stuff, that's genuinely fantastic, I'm sure you feel yourself getting healthier already... Or are you?

Recent studies have shown that the quality of the soil used for most commercial farming has dropped by as much as 80%. Genetically modified crops mean we can grow fruits and vegetables bigger and faster, pesticides are now more prevalent than ever, fresh food is frozen and shipped across oceans to be put on a shelf in a supermarket for your convenience. All of these factors add up and result in us getting only a tiny fraction of the nutritional benefit from our food. We haven't even talked about how unhealthy fast food or the modern stressful lifestyle can be...

At this point most people would turn to a multivitamin to supplement their diet. Pop a pill every day and you're getting everything you need right? Wrong. As we wrote in a previous article, your body only absorbs between 10% and 20% of those vitamins, so you're literally flushing 80-90 percent of those vitamins, and your money down the loo.

That's why Verve makes so much sense to me. Drinking one can a day is the equivalent of eating 3 whole bags of organic fruits and vegetables, and not those lame GM veggies either! I'll be the first to admit that my diet could use tweaking and improving, but at least I know I'm getting all that goodness every day.

Why your "Why" is so important

The point of Vemma is ultimately to achieve your dreams. It is an opportunity for health, financial freedom, and more time. With these three things you can focus on what is really important to you, instead of trying to juggle all the different parts of your life at once.

But how can you keep yourself motivated, doing what you do, if you don't know why you're doing it? Once you know what you want to achieve and why, you can plot a path for yourself and measure your progress.

Vemma calls this, "Writing Your Why". The idea is to summarize your goals and dreams into a paragraph or two; something to read everyday and remind yourself why you got involved with Vemma and where you're headed.

This short bit of writing can be in any form: A short story; Bullet Points; A summary… It's solely for you. You also have the option of sharing your Why on your Vemma website. My why encompasses why I do everything that I do in my life. That includes Vemma, music, photography etc. Most people prefer to say specifically why they became a Vemma Brand Partner and what they hope to achieve in it, but it really can be whatever you like.

Here's My why:

To change myself, and the world To reach the infinitely high zenith of creativity To forget the boxes and the boredom To end the never ending nights To be in control of where, when and why And to prove that limits are merely the products Of deranged imaginations

Write your Why wherever you like – mines on my wall, phone, front page of my notebook, etc. And don't forget, your goals need not have limits. I want to change the world. Don't you?

Staying Excited

Howzit team!

So I have been given Thursday as my day of the week to write an inspiring message to everyone. So from now, on every Thursday a message from me will pop up on the 24twos site regarding anything I feel everyone needs to hear, now it doesn’t have to be Vemma related and for the most part it actually won’t be.

The majority of my posts from now on will be inspirational. However today message from me is about Vemma and is with regard to something that has been on my mind a lot lately, and that is all about staying excited and being committed and serious!

Now before I say anything more let me just say this. This once in a lifetime opportunity means absolutely nothing if you do not take advantage of it in the lifetime of this opportunity. Remember, Vemma doesn’t just start working for you, you have to put in the hard yards at the beginning and sooner than you realise, it will start paying off for you.

This is a business, and businesses take time and effort to build up, so don’t be disheartened if it takes you 4/5 months to hit your first cycle, heck that’s how long it took me, and next month I am aiming for gold.

No one has ever failed in this company if they just stuck with it! Consider this; the average person that has been involved with network marketing for 10 years earns about R 100,000.00 a month, so half the people earn more than that.

Now onto excitement. I understand that it can be hard to stay motivated, and that is especially true for all the people who live out of Cape Town, but thanks to modern technologies such as Skype and whatsapp, we seriously have no excuses. This is a team business, we are all here to help each other out. HOWEVER, sometimes you will find yourself in a position where you aren’t getting as much support as you might want, but that’s life. Take me for example, this month my entire upline dropped out, but have I quit? NO!!! In fact it’s been the best month for me so far from a new people enrolling point of view.

So yes, this is a team effort, but it is still your business, and so you are going to be required at times to be strong and run on your own steam, and never let other people get you down. I find that listening to self-development is a good way to motivate yourself, look up motivational videos on youtube to get yourself pumped, or listen to Tony Robbins. Just do something, even if it is loud exciting music, but then don’t just get amped and then tell everyone about it, act on your emotions. Nothing speaks louder than actions!

When it comes to being committed and being serious, I think almost all of us are lacking in this department. What the majority of people who get involved with this don’t seem to understand at first is that you CAN actually make some serious cash in this company, but guess what, no one has ever made any serious kind of money by messing around, and the same thing applies for this business. To make serious money, you have to be serious about making that money, because as soon as you do that other people will start to notice how you are changing and then want to follow you forward.

So to get people to take you seriously (and I know I am probably one of the most guilty parties when it comes to this next part) you have to be sharp, and to do that you have to put down the bottle, put down the J and focus. If you are just more mindful about all the little things, you will find that the big things sort themselves out, if you do everything just 1% better every day soon you will be 100 times better than you are today, and that can apply to anything, whether it is doing that 1 extra push up or picking up that 1 sock that you would normally think won’t make much of a difference, or spending that extra 10 minutes in the morning to eat breakfast (which we all know is important).

To end off this week’s message I’ll finish with a quote by Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”

Why it's essential to keep a tight team: ¾ of the Four 2's explained!

Here at 24twos HQ we focus a lot on creating ways to keep your Vemma team tight and working together smoothly. Here's a short post on why we do this, and what it ultimately achieves.

The key to any team (including and especially 24twos) is unity, and consistency. We've already heard a ton of complaints that people enrolled to Vemma just stop all together, leaving thoroughly frustrating dead-spots scattered all over your downline. How could you possibly hope to create a successful, profitable and sustainable business when the people involved leave you hanging?

This is where we step in, with a solution to the issue. The 24twos concept focuses on 4 people; you, you're enroller, and your Golden 2. By working tightly with your Golden 2 (whom you've specifically chosen because you work well together), you set an example for them, motivate and inspire them to keep on working hard. As the enroller, that is your only real job. To address this and a few other issues, we developed what we call "The Four 2's". In this post I'll focus on the three that address keeping a tight team.

2 Minute Monday – One of the easiest ways to lose interest in something is to not be involved in it. To keep in the loop, everybody in 24twos calls their Golden 2 on Monday. As the title implies, it doesn't have to be a long call – 2 minutes to make sure everything is greased up and running smoothly. This is solely to maintain a strong connection with your Golden 2.

2 Kind Words – While your Golden 2 are your top priority, don't forget to reciprocate and acknowledge the efforts your enroller is putting in. In 24twos, what goes down must go up as well! Every Tuesday send a message to your enroller, and acknowledging his/her efforts and keeping the connection tight both ways.

Thursdays at 2 – Getting through the week things can start piling up, things can be forgotten – every Thursday at 14:00, text your Golden 2 to make sure they're coping and everything that should have been done is done. Often they may have a question or 2; perhaps they need a hand or would like to bounce an idea off you. That's what you're there for – Thursdays at 2 ensures your Golden 2 always feel you're open to help.

That's 3 of the Four 2's. As you can see, they are entirely focused on maintaining a strong bond with all the most important people in your business. Set an example for all those still to come, stay punctual and consistent in keeping up the Four 2's.

Harnessing motivation to its true potential

Sup all!

Today I'm gonna write a quickie on maximizing productivity when you're motivated. Just a few days ago, myself and Kyle (Monday's writer) were discussing how quickly 24twos went from the vague forms of an idea to a full blown business strategy, launched and active.

The main reason for the speed, we concluded, was sheer motivation. Instead of sitting around letting the idea ferment (overthinking, I like to call it) for a while, we harnessed the energy and the excitement we felt – excitement and energy that took our work ethics to the next level.

Suddenly writing an essay on nutrition for you all to read became a fascinating task for me; a test in writing and knowledge, accompanied by a need to share my findings. Suddenly building up a website from nothing but an idea became a challenge instead of a task.

This is really what it boils down to. When you are motivated to go and do something, not only will you get it done – you'll get it done faster, and better than you would in a normal frame of mind. I'd like to suggest you let this thought sit in your mind a while; it applies to pretty much anything that you do. Motivation gets stuff done. It makes getting up in the morning easier; it makes the creative process flower in winter.

So many times I've sat with a fantastic idea in my head, thinking, "I really should do this!" And after a few days, what could have been a great idea fell into oblivion, and never got done at all. Other times it becomes more of a task, and the product of this is an average result.

So what am I trying to say? If you're motivated to do something… go and do it, now! It's very difficult to motivate yourself at will. That's an unfortunate human flaw. When motivation and inspiration hit you – in the car going to work; perhaps at midnight while you can't sleep – harness it. You can sleep later, go write it down. Act on it in the morning, not next week – next week you may not be as motivated. It may fall back into the archives of brilliance that is forgotten.

It's a good idea to run whatever it is you're working on by one or two of your friends or colleagues. It's a rewarding process. Speed does mask mistakes and you don't want that. Get another mind involved, use this opportunity as a kind of spellcheck. I'm sure you've all heard the saying "Less speed, more haste." Think about this a little next time… and then let your creativity go wild.

I am not trying to say that you should only do things when you feel like it. Please, lovely readers… that's laziness. What I am encouraging, however, is the message behind the title of this post: Motivation boosts work ethic, creativity and quality in business – harness it.
