I think some of us were just meant to experience life more deeply. We don’t watch sunsets, we feel them. When others cry, we cry too. We’re painstakingly present yet constantly living in a state of nostalgia for the past. We’re highly alert to the beauty and the pain in the world and long for a future where the good that’s been lost can be restored.
Just had this realization that Allison's note at the end of 2x07 is very Berger from episode 6x07 of Sex and the City.
Reylo; A Retrospective
Not gonna lie. I want the Sequels to get the Prequel treatment.
After everyone has calmed down and/or forgotten, we'll get a Clone Wars-type show to make us love all the characters. Honestly, we just need to remake the movies if, for no other reason, Reylo was a huge miss.
Can you imagine a high-strung Kylo with low ambitions, Rey? Self-assured desert hobbit with emo red stick edge lord? Reylo was mediocre in the movies at best and a poorly thought-out disaster at worst, but what if they were a disaster couple on purpose?
Come on—think about it. In movie one, it's painfully obvious they were childhood friends through their physic conversations. A plucky and hopeful Rey with a shy Ben. Everyone assumed Rey talking to herself was just loneliness, but she knew the truth. Ben constantly hid these conversations until he was found out and told never to engage in this power again. (Maybe Luke saw it as Dark side spookiness)
The next time they meet Rey is light-years away from her comfy misery and Ben is multiple traumas under his natrauly shy self. It's immediately apparent how well they could work with each other if Rey gave a shit and Kylo wasn't trying to kill everyone. In the end, they figure out the whole "Oh, I'm trying to kill the only person who actually saw me for who I was" thing. Leaving a tense moment for the raging Kylo to be oddly calm, and for pessimistic Rey to finally be interested.
I won't go movie by movie since that requires way more thinking than a Tumblr post deserves. The two disaster children would be choked by the "opposite religions." Rey could be propped up as a hero, the one who will slay the dark lord, while Kylo would still be Kylo. When the showdown happens, they both say, "fuck it." Then, go on to be Grey Jedi together.
Obviously, this Tumblr post reads like a Tumblr post and not a Star Wars trilogy. It's short, not too well thought out, and lacking a lot of key details, like arcs for the side characters, villains, etc. Thankfully, the sequel Trilggoy already reads like a Tumblr post, so I got that going for me.
The expectant silence of not saying the dick joke is a dick joke in and of itself
