Was looking through my old bio assignments and found a sheet titled “Natural Selection Peer Evaluation”. If I recall correctly, we were drawing examples of evolution by natural selection, with the required factors for its occurrence all illustrated, and had to ‘grade’ a peer’s rough draft.

Looking at the ingredients now (bc it’s usually somewhat tropical fruits I react to (kiwi, pineapple, mango, you get the idea) so I don’t usually have to worry too much ab my diet or skincare) and.

There’s fucking kiwi extract in this. I LOVE kiwis, don’t get me wrong. I just. Itch for them. I can’t actually have the juice on my skin or I start itching and going red and if I eat them it feels like I’m gonna cough up a lung from how itchy my mouth + throat get

I wonder what happened to that folder Alyssa hid behind the painting on the night she was killed... We see a note book in her shared room with Grace, and then her hiding it as they try to flee, and then Grace picking it up from behind the same painting when she herself goes to investigate the Renwood Hotel 8 years later.

The trailer makes it look like something ambushes Grace before she has a chance to look at the folder, and I'm going to assume she gets kidnapped and taken to the Care Centre shortly after. Grace' gear is missing when she wakes up again, along with the folder. I wonder whether Grace will be able to find it again whilst exploring Rhodes Hill. At the same time we see Leon discover suspicious stuff on (Gideon's?) computer independently of the folder? - (after he loses his jacket come to think of it. Wonder if this is before or after Gideon interrogates him.) Anyway, curious how Alyssa's research becomes important later on (if it's not just treated as a MacGuffin to motivate her murder.)

Meandering, extra speculation below cut

I still think the Big Momma monster is Alyssa - the new infected retain fundamental impulses and I think Alyssa/Big Momma is directly reacting to Grace's presence. Whether this caused the Rhodes Hill outbreak accidentally or accidentally on purpose by Gideon, to test out the virus in Alyssa, I'm not sure about. Anyway, I would not be surprised if Big Momma/Alyssa revives after Leon shoots her and she has another confrontation with Grace in which Grace recognizes her mom. (And that's what ultimately drives Grace to follow Leon to RC.)

Even more speculative speculation:

Alyssa retains some of her humanity before Grace kills her for good. That will be mirrored later in the game, after Leon starts to lose his humanity to his infection - but this time Grace is able to save him.

Touchstarved insert: The Lamb

Hiii hiiii hiiiii I can finally play touchstarved for myself!!! This is my oc/self insert :) Their background is “The Unnamed” and uh. Their cult did some weird practices (will mention under the cut, as well as more information about them!)

I’m still deciding their name, but I want it to be sheep based. This is because they were raised very secluded in a cult, helpless to the rituals they followed and blindly unaware of the outside world and the sickness within their own doings. Then, when the traveler revealed to them what their power/curse really did, and their world turned upside down. Now they have to go out of the cave, their home that suddenly feels sickening to remember and miss. However, because of their sheltered life, they find themselves falling into traps and believing too much of what other people say. Their innocence has made them gullible and much goo willing to follow the first hand that shows them kindness.

Our sheep has severe guilt for what they did, even though it wasn’t really their fault. They wish to cut themselves away completely from their past affiliations, and they hope no one, by some off chance, recognizes them. They wear a coat much too big for their shoulders, and they hope it swallows them whole. Their coat, given to them by Kuras in the start of the game, is a big help in trying to hide their identity. They often cower into the heavy cloth.

Between the three names, I have reason for each one! That’s why it’s hard for me to pick. I don’t know which one fits best. Ewe: the name for a female sheep. Ewes are often used for breeding (as well as wool production), to give birth to more lambs. Most ewes (sheep above 1 year old) have lambed before. This is a service the sheep are used for, to keep filling up the flock. My MC was of service to their cult for a long time, and has given sacrifices to that whole. As does a ewe to the farmers, using their energy and selves to birth more sheep.

Wether: the name for a castrated male sheep. Symbolic of their history in the cult suffocating them and cutting them short. Their development, sense of self/identity, and external knowledge, as well as how to survive outside. They’re been coddled in their little chapel, given no room to grow and develop themselves as a person, putting them at a disadvantage. Wethers are also often used for meat, because there is no use for a ram that can’t breed more sheep. This is akin to sending MC to the “slaughter”; Eridia and the danger all around it. Lamb: A young sheep, less than a year old. This one is the simplest. They are often a sacrificial animal with strong religious ties. Lambs are weak, innocent, and vulnerable. Sheep are also known to be dumb. (Gullible). Lambs are almost helpless, just like my poor little MC oh-so-lost in the world and at the hands of their companions to not lead them astray.

Yeah their cult cut off their fingertips. The whole first digits, not including the thumb. Yikes! I was going for a “declawing” type feel, or the docking of a lamb’s tail. Both work. Declawing a cat gives it chronic pains and disability for the sake of the owner’s comfort. Hurting the cat. Sacrificing an important part of a cat for some “grand” greater goal. (MC’s self for the purpose and uses of the cult). Docking tails is a very common practice farmers do to keep the lambs sanitary and prevent flystrike. This would just add to the sheep theming of my character.

Oh and I think I’m going to go for Kuras or Mhin. More-so Mhin, because I feel like I got more care from them than the others, but there’s the big drawback of MHIN’S GOT SOMETHING GOING ON WITH KURAS AND IT’S REALLY BAD!!! And Kuras same thing but dialed down AND HE LOWKEY DON’T GAF ABOUT US!!! HE IN HIS OWN LANE FR!!! I thought I was going to go for Kuras at first bc he’s pretty but he’s giving me nothing😭😭😭 There is like NO wiggle room for MC to slip into this group of 5 monsties and eople alike😔 even for the other 3 (they are VERY tied together. Ais and Vere especially but Leander is affectionate for them both too) WE ARE SOOO FUCKED GANG I’m too aromantic for this😔😔😔 atp I’m not gonna be able to play it bc I can’t even pretend😭😭 I don’t need any of y’all ya’ll are tight enough as is!!! #touchstarved polycule bro you r thirdwheeling and homewrecking no matter what or who you choose it’s weird😬😬😬 AHHHHHHHHHH!
