When my friend tried my ginger anti-nausea gum...
is it possible for someone to not /ever/ get dizzy, or maybe be unable to recognize when they're dizzy because of (possible) alexithymia? i stim a lot, usually involving me spinning around nonstop in place, and once i nearly did it for half an hour before stopping (and stopping because my feet hurt), but i can't recall ever having to stop because i'm dizzy... apparently /other/ people can get dizzy from watching me spin around, though? could this be related to aspergers, or other sensory things?
Some autistic people are hyposensitive to vestibular input, and others are hypersensitive to vestibular input. It sounds like you might be hyposensitive, which is why you enjoy spinning and never seem to get dizzy or feel sick when doing it.
So, I think I may have developed vestibular migraines recently (not confirmed yet, but the symptoms all fit). Anyone have tips on how to make them less awful? Or less frequent? I need this to not be a daily occurrence.
To treat balance disorders, physical therapy is often recommended. Likewise, here are the different balance disorders that PT can address.
Balance disorders are characterized by conditions that make you feel unsteady while you sit, stand, or lie down. These disorders are caused by head injuries, neurological conditions, low/high blood pressure, and certain medications. To treat balance disorders, physical therapy is often recommended.
Vertigo acting up super bad today 😣😣😣
D the Cat is sick. Suspicion is a vestibular virus. Of course this happens at 10 PM on day 2 of a 3 day weekend.
I called my friend who is a vet by training and she did not recommend the Vet ER, but to reevaluate tomorrow. Since she is still purring and responsive we are doing watchful waiting.
I just looked at the rehab place they’re sending me to
It’s a sports rehab.
No focus on vestibular issues
This does not sound like what I need AT ALL
Oh yay, another thing to add to the list of "Reasons why Melody shouldn't be active."
