I think he’s going to make a wonderful paperboy 😏.
In part 2, Sarah is not happy about Andy getting the job delivering the papers especially at the post office (that is until she has another run in with Viv) while Andy makes a discovery in the barn.
Scene 4: The boys tell Jack & Sarah about Andy getting a job delivering papers but Sarah is not happy (they could have given them ‘some extra pocket money’) while Jack thinks ‘it’s a great idea.’ She’s worried about his safety especially after she heard ‘someone in one of the barns today’ but Jack just brushes it off as maybe a tramp (‘woman, hey’ 😒). It gets worse when Robert tells her it’s at the post office (‘maybe it’s a good will gesture’ Jack says - sure).
Jack: No, no. I think it’s a great idea. What’s wrong with a lad wanting to stand on his own two feet.
Sarah: It’s winter, Jack. At that time in the morning, it’s dark. It’s not exactly safe.
The scenes focus on the Windsors and Jack & Sarah.
Scene 5: At the pub, Vic tells Viv about hiring Andy and she’s not thrilled (understatement). She goes on about him hiring Andy and what she thinks about ‘that Sarah Sugden.’ How is she gonna deal with Sarah now that ‘one of her lot’ has a job with them. Vic puts a hard stop of Viv thinking she can give Andy his ‘marching orders.’ Peeved, Viv moves to another table.
Viv: Andy Hopwood!!! (She’s like yelling/screeching - my head 🥴)
Vic: Well, he’s dead keen.
Viv: How could you! After all the terror him and that Sugden boy put our Donna through? (living I her delusional world still)
Vic: Eh, it’s all over now. They’re all friends now. I’d checked with Donna.
Scene 6: Viv lays the law down to Sarah about Andy that he’ll be canned if he delivers anything wrong. Well after that run in, Sarah seems okay with Andy working at the post office, just to rile up Viv (that smile 😏).
Sarah: What was that you were saying about them having more important things to worry about?
Jack: You love winding each other up don’t you?
Sarah: Do you know, I think you’re right about Andy standing on his own two feet. I think he’s going to make a wonderful paperboy.
Scene 7: While Andy is checking on his dog, he comes into contact with his father Billy (he’s unfortunately back).
