Hi I wanted to thank you about the warning about ep.11, it was very... triggering yes but I loved it I loved that was an ep about women saving women I loved the taxi lady, I love the old lady of Belle Opaque, I love the madame in the bar and I LOVE, LOVE my five beautiful and brave babies, they deserve the world (I am so proud of them) And yes a special mention for the good boys because they were sweet going to see if the girls were ok I can't believe that today is the end, I have so many feels!
You’re welcome! I spent the morning trying to come up with an easy system to do trigger warnings for dramas but couldn’t come up with anything that wouldn’t take an impossible about of work. I’ll definitely try to keep it in mind and warn for the shows I’m watching.
And I love all the ladies in this drama. I feel like all of them have grown over these six weeks. Eun-Jae could not have confronted an Asshole holding a box cutter at her when she couldn’t confront her own roommates about taking advantage of her in episode one. Ye-Eun getting to the point that she loved herself enough to leave at the Red Flags couldn’t have happened in the beginning. Yi-Na was complacent in what she had and wanted nothing more. Ji-Won didn’t care about consequences. And Jin-Myung never would’ve fought for herself.
When I think about good character development it is paramount that the characters are different at the end of the journey than they are at the beginning. Their trials should noticeably change them.
I haven’t wanted a second season of a kdrama in a very long time. In fact, I can’t think of one off the top of my head that wouldn’t be made better and more enjoyable with a second season. Age of Youth was definitely the best written, acted, and directed kdrama I’ve seen so far this year.
It will be difficult to top.
