Dead people cannot stand, y'all. Here's the deal. The top picture is of two young dead boys. They are in a coffin. They are not standing. They are very dead. The bottom picture is of a very much alive young boy. He is standing. But, he is being posed with a thing used in photography back then that helped pose people's head and keep them still. It DOES NOT mean he is dead and posed for that reason. You can see in the red circle the foot of the apparatus that poses LIVING people.
I myself have been posed with one of those posing apparatuses when taking a wet plate photograph some years ago, and, as you can see, I'm very much still alive.
Please stop spreading this misinformation. Dead people are not able to stand and must have propped up by living people to be fully displayed during a post mortem picture.
