SO VIDETTE IS THINKING ABT BEING AN OVERLORD :0000000
POOKIES GROWING BALLS!11! /silly
Vidette: It's been something my friends have joked about off and on since I died. Blitz has always called me I.M.P's powerhouse, but I always thought he was just being nice since he knows I don't think much of myself often. I figured I have... a lot more time on my hands now that I'm not-
(There's a gentle knock on the door. Vidette's ears perk up at the sound as it opened, Alastor entering and shutting it behind him casually.)
Alastor: Ah, here you are, pet. Hiding in my room, hmm? You're aware you have your own, yes?
Vidette: Y-Yeah, I know, I'm sorry- I just- I was looking for you, but you were busy, so I thought I'd wait for you here- a-and I don't want to go back in our room just yet... I hate these stupid senses- everything still smells like him, and if- if I think about him, I j-just- and I just want to-
Alastor: *tsk* Oh, you poor thing.
(Alastor walks a little ways into the bayou and seats himself at the base of a tree. He motions for her to come over, so she does. he lets her press herself at his side and curl up against his chest, tail tucked and ears pressed back as her breaths start to hitch.)
(He wraps his arms around her and starts combing through her hair with one hand)
Alastor: Now, I was only teasing you, fawn. You're more than welcome to seek sanctuary here anytime you need. I find comfort in the atmosphere, so it only makes sense it should feel that way to you as well.
Now, let's not let thoughts of impudent spiders cloud your mind, my dear girl. I hear there's something you wished to discuss?
Vidette: (sniffles) You... you mentioned once that you had an old theatre near the entertainment district...?
Alastor: Ah, yes, I forget the name, but it used to be quite the establishment before I dealt with it's owner. I never found much use for it, so it fell into disrepair. Why do you mention it?
Vidette: I was thinking... I might like to try renovating it. Maybe try putting on a musical someday... It's close to the Vee's territories, so I thought maybe if I could get something going, a-and make more of a name for myself, they might be open to-
Alastor: I'll tell you what, pet. I can make that promotion a reality with a simple shake of the hand- I've the souls to spare for the title, and I'm happy to assist in anything that will aide you in reaching your full potential- but you'll have two conditions to meet in return.
Vidette: (Vidette stands)
Alastor: The first is that; No matter your long game here, under no circumstances are you to make a deal with any of the Vees. You've a wonderful many things, Vidette, but hard prey is not one of them. Dealmaking is a cesspool of manipulation and trickery, and you've been brought up to be blind to it all.
The second is that you aren't to leave this hotel without an escort. I know I've trusted you to defend yourself in the past, but the bigger the presence you are down here, the bigger the predators who come hunting, and you've yet to hold control for long in your demon form.
It leaves you a threat to yourself and those on your own side, therefore, if push comes to shove, someone must be there to snap you out of it.
(Alastor holds out his hand, magic crackling around it.)
Alastor: Do we have a deal?
(Vidette thinks a moment, then shakes his hand. There's a flash as corrupted green and black swirled with soft and melodic pink and gold before erupting with a clash of loud, eerie static and a crescendo of violins.)
(Vidette's eyes glow yellow briefly, and she startles, looking down at her hands, which are now shaking slightly and swirling with magic. She yelps and flaps her hands, the power quickly fading.)
Alastor: Quite the thrill, isn't it, newfound power? A bit startling at first, but it's a feeling you'll get used to.
(Processing a moment, she grins, wide and bright like a child, then squeezes Alastor in a hug, emitting a delighted little bleat.)
Vidette: ...thank you, dad...
(Alastor chuckles fondly, hugging her back. A hint of mischief slightly widens his grin out of her sight, a strange combination with his otherwise paternal demeanor.)
Alastor: Always a pleasure to be of assistance, my dear.
