En fin de nuit Vol. 8: Unscrambled

Just put the finishing touches on a new En Fin de Nuit mixtape. This one deviates from the usual recreating-a-late-nite-softcore-porn broadcast and is instead inspired by that night as a teen when the hardcore porn channel was mistakenly un-scrambled. The tape features three hardcore films, one from the ‘70s, ‘80, and the one I recorded that fateful night in 1999.

But this wasn’t a brand new BASF videocassette thrown into the VCR — you’d be right to assume other stuff had already been recorded on this tape, so the features are haunted by the analog ghosts of newscasts, talk shows, ‘80s music videos, resulting in a unique document of… well, tapes that existed in many homes during that era, usually hidden under a floorboard, a mattress, or in my case, a Star Trek board game box.

The ‘70s and ‘80s films feature some legendary performers but are mainly fascinating because of the music mimicking some big hits… and in the case of American Pie (1980), I’m pretty sure licensing wasn’t acquired in certain cases. The third film, The Lover Girls (1985), doesn’t hide its imitations/homages/copyright-circumventing of “We Got the Beat”, “Into the Groove”, “Boys of Summer”, among numerous others popular ‘80s songs.

Updated Schedule Sept 2019

Officially the first week of work and school has begun. After terrible internet issues, I’ve had time to fully schedule something that will work around my school and work schedule. Splitting up the streams on Monday’s & Friday’s During the weekend of September 19th - 23rd, we’ll be playing the open beta for the cross play portion of Call of Duty Modern Warfare. All other streams will be put on hold and in its place will be this title. For the weekend of the 13th, we’ll be playing Borderlands 3 non-stop until Monday, from that point on Borderlands 3 will be exclusive to the night streams on Monday’s and Friday’s.

I’ll be attempting brand new titles I’ve never played before as well for the early streams, and don’t forget to catch the reruns on Tuesday’s through Thursday’s as those nights I won’t be able to stream at all. Below are the stream times and games that will be played throughout the month of September!

Sunday’s will be special, I’ll be starting a suggestion box Monday’s on Instagram to see what you as the viewer would like me to play. The best four titles (so long as I own them) will be put into a poll on both Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday’s. The winning selection of the poll will be played on that following Sunday.

Saturday 8PM - ??: Call of Duty Black Ops 4
