"Oh, you mean the thorn in my side? No ... I’m only kidding. Charlie’s an excellent detective. I imagine she was an excellent cop, too, but that’s just conjecture on my behalf. High energy, good drive, thorough. We all have our demons, she deals with mine and I understand where she comes from with hers. I trust her. Partnerships like ours come with a certain brand of understanding that no one else in the world will really get. She gets pieces of me that other people miss. But it’s probably a detective’s brain, right? Observing the shit other people miss. Noting it but not pushing it until you need to. I wouldn’t want any other partner.”

“Sleep. No, really. I love my bed. It’s my favorite thing in my house. It’s a Wyoming King, which is bigger than a California King, and it’s expensive to buy sheets and stuff for but I have so much space. Sleeping past 7 in the morning is ... it’s in my top five favorite feelings, ever.”
