eve spends a great deal of her time not thinking about villanelle.
she doesn’t think about what she’s doing or who she might be doing it with; not about what food she eats, or the clothes she wears, or places she goes and has gone; she doesn’t even think about killing her. almost killing her. point is: almost all of eve’s time is spent actively not thinking of villanelle. it requires a lot of mental energy and it works almost all of the time. except when she turns around in the middle of her kitchen and the one person she spends almost all of her time not thinking about is standing in the middle of her living room.
