Bro today was my class observation and I was so nervous I was SHAKING!!!!! A professor from the English department sat in on my class and observed everything and his feedback goes back not only to the head of the department, but a train of people above related to HR, Fine Arts, etc

And I did the lecture and my students tried their best with their feedback, questions, and answers!!! And then as the class drew to a close, my observer was like: please stay after class for a discussion and BOY I WAS SCARED! Mouth dry! Nervous panic!!! Heart beating fast!!!

And then we had our one-on-one and this professor told me that he couldn’t believe this was my first time teaching because he felt my class was a “master class on instruction and understanding and engaging with your students” and he had SO many nice things to say!! He kept repeating “fantastic, this was just absolutely fantastic” and then quoting me back to me (yuck!!) and being like: “you said this in class - PERFECTLY said. You bridged this person’s comment and that ones. Great!! Your PowerPoint was expertly made! You wrote this that I liked ...”

This post is such a fuckin mess but I wanna SCREAM!!! I passed my observation!! I impressed him! He thinks I have a natural talent and will be an incredible professor for years to come - ALL FROM THE MAN WHO TOLD ME YEARS AGO TO QUIT TRYING TO BE AN ACADEMIC BECAUSE NOBODY WOULD EVER HIRE ME. AAAAAH!! LIFE COMES AT YOU FAST!
