Oh yes, what a fantastic start! Lights, camera, action!
This whole soundtrack has a delightful blend of retro sound and modern sensibilities. It has samples that sound like one's memory of the Genesis/Mega Drive days. But then, it also has punchy, modern sounds--like the jazzy piano solo (which is KILLER, by the way), the full horn section samples, and the full and groovy rhythm section. This tune has that addictive, "four on the floor" beat that makes you want to dance. I love the padding that comes out right after the first part of the A section: it's subtle, but it adds a nice body to the piece. The synths are a great fit; they really do evoke that pinball game-y feel, especially when they roll in the A sections and comp in the B section. Very cool chord progression in the B section as well; I think it's just a long II-V progression (with another V of V in the turnaround), but the 7ths really open up the sound, along with the voicing. Groovy!

We've had two positive covid cases at my courthouse - one was a deputy who STILL continues to not wear his mask unless it's to yell at other people for not wearing theirs - and yet we're all still mainly "business as usual," too. The only big change has been that court is being held via Zoom instead of in person. It's frustrating as all get-out.

who said i love you first?: i think i once said wasabi did.
who laughs when the other trips?: gogo. she only kinda snickers tho.
who pays the bills?: i imagine wasabi would be the one most likely to remember to pay the bills (which is good for gogo because she’s got a million subscriptions.)
which one makes a bigger deal around the holidays?: depends on the holiday; if it’s christmas or new years, it’s wasabi. if the holiday’s over the summer, it’s gogo.
who’s more clumsy?: wasabi.
who checks their daily horoscope?: hm. i don’t think either of them would be into that, but i’m going with wasabi.
who sings louder in the car?: neither sing in the car often--but when they do, it’s almsot always to paramore and they are LOUD AF.
who leaves the cap off the toothpaste?: gogo. *insert displeased wasabi here*
who is more up to date in pop culture?: neither--it’s honey.
who insists on going to see the newest movies?: gogo, especially if it’s marvel or the furious series!
who cries when the abused animal commercials come on?: wasabi kinda crumples but never actually tears up.
who’s the lighter sleeper?: gogo.
who believes in ghosts?: ...neither? maybe wasabi?
who does the grocery shopping?: both, because they both know that either of them trying to do it themselves will result in chaos.
