No, but imagine Vincent healing through proving himself he's human enough to care for someone, he's strong enough to make a difference in somebody's life.

And that somebody happens to be Sephiroth- broken, lonely, shy, longing for some warmth, any warmth. Imagine Sephiroth, as an adult, meeting someone who's willing to be gentle and caring, and for the first time in his life, allowing himself to be vulnerable, to be human

yes!!!

i adore seph and vincent having a relationship and just Caring for one another, Vin healing both his inner child and combating his thoughts of purposelessness--his only use, the only reason he thinks he's alive, is to suffer as some sort of penance but that's not fucking true!

I always have imagined their reunion as adults going something like Vin expecting a total cold front or anger or something negative, something that vindicates his feelings of failure, that validates the fact that he could of done more and he didn't--and Sephiroth just says something along the lines of I think you were the first person who tried to care about me and thanks him for the effort.

Seph knows that really Vin cared for Lucrecia first, but it's the entirety of the situation he's referencing, the fact that Vincent was the first one to even try to stop the violent domino effect to come.

Seph gains an anchor, a tether to the world, one built not on reverance, not on hate, not on bitter anger, not on competition--but an unconditional love that persists despite of, in spite of, everything he's done. There's no replacement for a love that is safe, for a person you can rely on and confide in. Neither of them ever had this in full and both of them deserve it.

Sephiroth and Vincent deserve so much more than what they were given, they were bled dry and taken from and taken from.

I think they would understand each other in a way that others couldn't fully empathize with or conceptualize, they had the same abusers, they've died at the hands of a violent death and come back to life just to go weapon first into the next conflict.

I also think that the Yin Yang imagery is fucking chef's kiss, WHITE AND GREEN, BLACK AND RED? LITERALLY PERFECT OPPOSITES! also vincent (6'5) is one of the only characters who is eye level with sephiroth (6'7) so really, this is quite the slay

i'm avoiding the ones i did for sephesis week and prompts, so here goes nothing!

Cool, long fingers stretch over the length of his throat, pressing ever so slightly into his flesh like a warning. - macro visions; vincent/cloud, (pwp, established...something)

Vincent watches the line move slowly in front of him, each person placing their order with the kind of ease that he’s (admittedly) envious of. - venti, vidi, Vincent; (gen)

"Oh please. That’s nothing,” Sephiroth laughs, quietly delighted by how the auburn-haired man’s practically light up. - formula for ruin; sephiroth/genesis, (pwp, bottom!sephiroth)

When the dust settles – both metaphorically and in the most literal sense after the construction of Edge has completed – Cloud finds himself at odds with the landscape that surrounds him. - late night rendezvous; genesis/vincent/cloud, (post-canon established relationship)

There is nothing quite like reality and dreams blurring together to create a hellish landscape that can make Vincent question his very existence. - waking between worlds; sephiroth/vincent (pwp, vincent is not the father)

Sometimes he comes to the church with Cloud and Vincent. - shoot out that beating heart; sephiroth/genesis, (pwp, bottom!sephiroth)

At some point, Cloud knows he’s going to have to address certain aspects of his life. - in the darkness there's a red light; cloud/vincent (pwp. established relationship)

When it all finally goes down – apropos of absolutely no catalyst except a man that should (by all means) be dead – Tseng is at a loss of how he should feel. - two hearts in 3/4 time; tseng/reeve (pwp but boy howdy does this now give me rebirth vibes reading back on it)

There are very few moments that Tseng can recall in recent memory that he has felt utterly and entirely in over his head. - turn it up; tseng/reeve/vincent (pwp, established relationship between tseeve)

are there patterns to my writing? absolutely; i lean towards pwp but only because i find it to be a fantastic catalyst for characters to express themselves. i am also a fan of sephiroth getting railed because that man is a born pillow princess and you cannot tell me otherwise.

with regards to how i start fic, a lot of these are post-canon because i feel that so many people have already written so much better fics placed during canon events or pre-canon so there's a pattern there for sure.

ultimately...i need to write more strifentine and tseeve IN GENERAL. particularly tseeve. i miss them.

Birthday Art for A friend! from @takenbynumbers and I, for Emmy In The Snood AU, Vincent Valentine was dormant in an underwater cave for several many, many millennia due to Lore reasons. The Snood found him and brought him home! He recovers now, but with so much time spent asleep, Vincent has no idea what has happened in the meantime - and who better to teach him than the All-Knowing Snood!
