Compact, American Beauty by Elgin American, Gold Tone Satin and Glossy Finish, Rectangular with Art Nouveau Style Decoration, Vintage 1950s

For just $20.00 This American Beauty compact is a fine example of Elgin American line of products produced by the respected Elgin Watch Company known for excellence in design and quality workmanship. The cover of this vintage compact is decorated with an Art Nouveau revival motif with the design decoration appearing in a polished goldtone finish against a brushed satin background. The mirror is intact, glass clear silver backing and not fogged. The interior finish is good condition with just some minor spot of discoloration of the gold tone finish just below the hinge of the cover of the face-powder compartment. The back of the compact has a brushed satin finish with no other markings. The condition is good with some minor wear appropriate for mid-century vintage. Dimensions: length is 3 1/2 inches (9.89cm) width is 2 7/8 inches (7.30cm) thickness is 3/8 inch (.95cm) Prepackaging net weight is 6 ounces.
