Inspirations:
Compared to her more generic design of the original Rough Sketch, Violet has a more sharp and angular design compared to the other leads. Over the course of the first volume, Violet’s hair grew longer and her figure became more stylized and insect-like. Her spade, despite being her personal emblem, wasn’t originally part of her design. Compared to the more distinct eye designs or hairstyles of the other Castmates, Violet’s relatively normal appearance establishes her as an everywoman, one of the leads.
Violet’s manner of dress throughout the first two volumes convey her showman persona. The first gives her a power suit and dress shoes in vague reference to a fancy tuxedo while also visually denoting her as ICT’s leader. The long coattails were meant to visually evoke the feel of a cockroach or cricket’s wings, especially in conjunction with her long legs. The second goes for a standup comedienne aesthetic.
Overview: Violet is the overarching main protagonist of It’s Color Theory, especially getting the most focus in the very first volume.

Trivia:
Violet is the first character to appear or speak in It’s Color Theory proper. In the original Rough Sketch comics, she jointly debuted in the second episode with Gordon and Chloe and was billed fifth due to not initially being the main protagonist.
As per the sweets-based theme naming all the Drewmans follow, Violet’s surname is homophonous with “ube”, a purple yam used in Filipino desserts. Appropriately, Violet herself is Filipina.
Violet is the only main character with a consistent given height, in her case six feet. Ironically, she’s the shortest of the Violet-type Castmates as of the climax of Volume One.
Despite being the most enthusiastic about performing, Violet is the last of the six Core Castmates to appear in a Microsketch, first doing so in Episode 103.
Violet’s main elemental powers align with the ones used by the other Era 1-2 violet Castmates; Landon uses fire, Kelsey uses ice, and Martin uses lightning.
Between the female Core Castmates, Violet was the only one not to wear sneakers in Volume One. This changes in Volume Two, where Violet does wear sneakers but Chloe wears boots. She’s also the only one of the three with thin eyebrows, mirroring how her husband is the only male Core Castmate with thick eyebrows.
Violet is among the Castmates to have not grown up in Dullsville, instead being a Noo Yawker. As such, she speaks with a heavy Brooklyn accent.
Violet, Gordon, Monty, and Duncan Brown are the only Castmates to be married upon their debut and are initially the only ones with any children. Violet and Gordon are thus the only Castmates to be married to each other from the beginning.
Violet has more named relatives than any other Castmate. She’s also the only Core Castmate with more than one sister.
