Dullsville 101

This is the final episode of the extended Volume One story arc.

This is the first appearance of Octavio. He’s the only character to appear in this episode to not appear in the previous one.

As with the last episode, every Castmate to appear aside from Martin is one of the eleven “main” main characters moving forward.

At least one character of each color group appears.

Angie refers to the events of “Fraidy Factor”.

While not obvious as he only appears in full in one panel, and while crouching at that, Rudy is given a significant growth spurt so he’s only half a head shorter than Angie.

As of this episode, the characters are drawn as chibis in their default forms, becoming more detailed in closeup shots.

Violet is erroneously drawn without her wedding ring in the last panel.

This is the last appearance of Noah, Whitney, and Peony in Volume One.

Lloyd Knows

This marks the first appearance of Lloyd in It’s Color Theory, his first appearance as Lloyd after going by “Pietro” in Rough Sketch, and the first appearance of any DNA Drewmans.

Lloyd went through many changes in color, from salmon as Sam, to gainsboro as Pietro, to light gray as Ray, to oil black as Pedro, to robin’s egg as Robin, to dark blue as Niles, and finally gray (blue) as Lloyd. No other character has gone through as many changes.

This is the first episode Olive appears without her beret or any other sort of hat since its debut at the tail end of RS’ second season.

Rudy and J. don’t wear their hoodies or shoes for the entirety of the comic.

This is the first time Rudy and Olive interact since the latter’s debut.

The Zanille household is the fourth outside of the Oobay-Monade house to be seen onscreen, after Ingrid and Geneva’s rental house, Aziz’s home, and the Popso household.

Despite her prominent role, Coco doesn’t speak and neither does Lloyd.

This is the first episode to acknowledge J. as Coco’s joint owner.

This is J.’s first speaking role since “Lloyd Knows”, 25 episodes ago.

No yellow or gray Drewmans appear.

The Wrath Wraith sigil, shown in the video version, is noticeably more stylized than its appearance in the previous episode.

This episode toys with voice clips being used for the characters; namely Perry’s “fight me” being dubbed over by Meta Knight and Tyler’s annoyed groaning being Master Frown’s scream.

This is the first episode since “Well, Excuse Them, Princess!” where everyone who appears has dialogue.

While Oz Square, the Bad Part of Town has been featured before, this is the first mention of one of Dullsville’s other districts, Northside Avenue.
