opal didn’t like it here. she didn’t know where any of her family was, and she was just surrounded by so much... animalness. she didn’t like it. she missed the familiar hum and feel of dreams, but at least she didn’t have to hide here. she had human legs and looked more like an adult, so people weren’t concerned when they saw her wandering around on her own, like she liked to do. 

and it was another day of wandering around people-watching when she thought she spotted a familiar face. trying not to get her hopes up, opal followed the figure for a while until she saw their face. immediately, she beamed and ran to the man, throwing her arms up to hug him. “adam! you’re here!”

the knock at the door startled him, his instincts immediately going on edge as he reminded himself that it didn’t necessarily mean something bad. jasper paused as he made a move to undo the lock, the smell of human blood hitting him even through the heavy wood. focusing in on the little bit of control that he had, jasper hesitated before he opened the door. clearing his throat as he saw the small blond standing in the hallway, he raised one of his brows and passed over the usual sort of greeting. “you here about the apartment?” he asked. / @virmagicus​

“parvati, thank merlin.” lavender’s sound of relief was audible as she spotted her friend. she had found some enjoyments in washington, from shopping to muggle social media it wasn’t really that difficult to entertain herself. there wasn’t even a large amount lavender missed from home, but parvati definitely qualified as one of those rare things. after spotted her lavender had been over in a moment, sure that had to be parvati and not just some doppleganger. it was instinctual, and she liked to tell herself she absolutely would have known if it was someone other than parvati just borrowing her face. “if i was about to be stuck in some reunion with half of hogwarts and you weren’t here i might have actually lost it.” it was said with a small laugh, but it was certainly true. she was social enough at hogwarts, but she hadn’t had a lot of people she actually enjoyed talking to. “i mean i would have been stuck befriending hermione, and i don’t know if i could forgive you for leaving me to that.”
