We are@drawing a MOOSE on Friday, November 4th, 1-3p in my Live, online class! It will be a very aMOOSEing class! Did you know the hairs on a Moose are hollow which help to keep them warm?! I went to Blake Gardens in Berkeley yesterday and took some photos in hopes of using them as reference photos for more pastel paintings. This is one of them painted in soft pastels on Lux Archival sanded paper. I painted in pastels on a wood panel for the first time! I used clear gesso and Pastel ground as a base layer and let it dry and then painted on top with my pastels. So fun!! I love how bold and bright pastels are and how you can go back and forth between lights and darks. Tomorrow in my online Friday class we will be using pastels to paint a landscape.
