Hank had attempted at escape at Cay. With Fetch and Eugene, and two other Conduits he got them on board. He had it planned and everything.
But it failed. The five conduits were caught and sent into Maximum security. Augustine even decided for punishment to send Hank into the "Experiments."
But Hank kept his cool. Even if his plan failed he would still get out. He would always get out.
