March 19th,2020: We did it! Cappy and I filmed our video today for the @littlebit_trc Virtual Dressage Show! I’m so grateful to Mrs. Lisa and Nina for allowing me to enter and for everyone who helped out today! I couldn’t have done it without you! I found that I was really nervous when we first started filming, but by the second take everything was fabulous! I learned so much today and hope to use my new knowledge as I continue to perform. It’s amazing just how much changes in feelings affect my body and how I am able to sit on my horse! I’m planning on entering more shows later this year and riding independently! Cappy was such a star and the most perfect little show pony! I was so blessed to be able to have him as my partner today. It was such an emotional, amazing day and I know that this is just the very beginning of so many wonderful experiences on my journey to the 2028 Paralympics. Today i was reminded just how much I love to perform and I can’t wait to see where we ho next! . #cpawarenessmonth Sometimes with my CP, I find it difficult to appreciate my body as it is. When I’m on a horse, I forget about the limitations I have and feel like the greatest athlete ever. They have touched my life like nothing else. . March 17th, 2021: “Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go.” . When I’m riding, I often forget to smile because I am so focused on what I am doing. So I’m going to challenge myself to express my happiness outwardly more often, just like I am in this picture, and just like the quote says it is important to pat ourselves on the back for all that we have done and believe that we can achieve our wildest dreams and beyond. . Cappy and I got to rehearse our test for the @littlebit_trc virtual dressage show in a 20 x 40 arena today and it went awesome! Cappy was such a good boy and I’m especially proud that I got our halts right on the mark 😊 I’m so pumped to film our test on Friday and I’m excited to show you guys what we look like all dressed up! I’m going to practice using my elbows more at home before Friday, but other than that I feel confident that we’re going to do really well. This is just the beginning of so many more shows and tests to come and I’m really looking forward to the future ❤️🐴😊🇺🇸 . #cpawarenessmonth because my CP makes it difficult to walk, I often spend most of the day in my wheelchair because it’s how I get around and get things done. I love my chair, but sometimes I want to experience the world a different way. Horses give me that opportunity. They give me freedom and a chance to see things from another perspective.
