@virtuesroad sent: G'raha approaches Kjrn quietly — sensing something was off. He says nothing, and instead simply sits down next to him. Palm turns facing up: an offering to hold his hand, if the Viera wishes. No words need to be spoken, at least for right now. The Miqo'te's lips curl into a soft, small smile. // unprompted! // ACCEPTING.
Tired. The after effects of another restless night, evident made by the dull look in his eyes and the dark circles beneath them. There was no other word for his appearance but tired. How he loathed this journey to this wretched place, being reminded of something that he hoped to forget. The times he’d be forced to submit by these people, the spectacle he was forced to be, the pride he was forced to shed. Being here made old wounds ache, old thoughts resurface.
It was a mystery as to how many times and how long he would replay these thoughts in his head. Kjrn never gave himself peace. He couldn’t, not while being here. A shaking sigh, the expelled air visible and frosted as it left his lips, now threatening to become even more chapped than they already had been. When G’raha’s hand came into view, it forced the Viera to tilt his head back slightly, enough for him to look in the Miqo’te’s eyes.
❝ You should be seeing to whatever survivors are in this hell hole, G’raha, ❞ His words were quiet, hoping to hide the lack of confidence he felt in his body. His dismissal was weak. His words were weak. As much as Kjrn hated to admit these feelings, he needed someone. Someone who could somehow begin to understand the unease.
He slowly reached out to G’raha’s hand, grabbing it and rising to his feet. Kjrn watched as the others were all preoccupied with their other tasks, taking it as the sole opportunity he would have to pull the Miqo’te into an embrace. After a moment or two, Kjrn tightened his arms around G’raha, before letting him go and moving to return to the camp.
❝ Go, and help them. I’ll be fine, ❞ His words, despite the dismissing way they were said, perhaps, if G’raha listened hard, could catch the faintest words of thanks on the Viera’s lips.
