A self love visual spell in my grimoire. I meditated on all the seemingly impossible things I've overcome in my life and reminded myself that I'm stronger than I think.

I probably won't have time to finish all the prompts in a week but I did want to participate in #autumnmagicweek2019. This spread features the first two prompts, Candy Corn and Mushrooms, out together into a prosperity spell.

Although I don't care for the taste of candy corn they do always seem to bring joy and excitement that this time of year has arrived. The citrine stone is the perfect embodiment of that excitement and joyful energy. Citrine's connection to new beginnings, new pursuits and the transformation of hope and dreams into reality made it a great choice for this spell.

It's a great time of year to focus on gratitude and abundance. This cornucopia of mushrooms was a way for me to express both my appreciation for the things I have and to manifest even more success and prosperity in my life. There are coins in the background of the left page and pressed into wax on the right in order to bring financial wealth. The rune of prosperity serves to bring all that benefits me.

This was a really fun spell to do, I will be posting my other entries for #autumnmagicweek2019 as I complete them!

A visual spell for the last spread in this art journal.

I wanted to focus on self care/self improvement and further developing my psychic abilities. On the left is a monochromatic print of "Moon" by Alphonse Mucha. His work has always been an inspiration to me and reminds me of fairies and spring. I felt this particularly spiritual figure was a perfect inclusion. I pasted a third eye on her forehead which bled the ink of the print in an unexpected but beautiful way.

I included my magical name, the definition of Oracle (as well as the five known ancient Oracles) and a key for unlocking hidden potential.

Some self care tips for me to keep in mind, the rune for self, and a sketch from an old sketchbook that I love and felt belonged. He marks the date and partially covers the sign for Earth (I am an Earth sign). I melted a purple crayon and pressed a wrench socket into it to remind me that spiritual skills take real work. I finished the spread with an inspirational quote and some knot magic for prophetic dreams.

This was one of the most complex visual spells I've done in a while but it feels like a good end to my journal!

New spell for my friend @death-witch-envy inspired by Persephone and the themes of transformation and feminine power. Such enchanting creatures of dichotomy women are. Fierce and fragile, a soothing sea and a raging storm. We're so connected to the concept of cycles, the natural ebb and flow of universal energy, and that is so powerful.

I was thinking about how witches call on the energies of ancestors, spirit guides, elements etc. In their magical workings and how to adapt that into my practice more. I decided to experiment with combining the energies of deities and prominent artists with similar themes. As the spell I wanted to work was for starting an adventure and navigating it well, keeping on track for my big goals, I chose Poseidon and Ivan Aivazovsky.

Poseidon/Neptune of the god of the sea and was the first name that came to mind on the topic of adventure, exploration, and expert navigation.

Ivan Aivazovsky is a Russian romanticist painter who is known for his incredible ocean seascapes. Throughout his life he participated in military maneuvers, archeological excavations, and bravely experienced the destruction of war for the sake of creating his epic works.

I also created a tarot spread for this spell to offer some more specific direction. Feel free to use it yourself if you are feeling the need for a little adventure this season.
