I'm working the front desk of where I help with summer camps on Saturdays until they renegotiate the security schedule with the city.

It's a historic building that the city likes to ignore its ownership of, despite how big an impact what is currently located in the building has on the community. And don't get me started on their lack of involvement! Things can't get fixed without the city being involved, so the boiler was busted for about three weeks in the winter and they had to shut the building down and cancel classes. And the freight/service elevator has been broken for who knows how long! And there's a leak in the pavilion tha-

Anyway!

It's my first shift on the front desk and I come in thirty minutes early to start getting the building set up for the day. I sit my stuff down and do all the other first few steps of the opening ritual. And then I see it.

There, in the trash can... a carton of Vita Coco...

I'm sure you know what my brain did the entire time I was unlocking rooms and turning on lights.
