Mapua Tips
Planning to be a Mapuan next Academic Year? Still confused if Mapua is the right college? Wanting badly to become a Mapuan? Or do you have no choice but to study in Mapua?
Then this is the right post for you! haha. Kidding aside, Hey incoming frosh!! I am Albert, 3rd year Civil Engineering student from Mapua. :D
Here are some tips for you to survive the challenges the institute will give you!
1. Accept it. As early as TODAY, Accept that the school you are about to enter is not just a walk in the park. Studying in Mapua is hard. You get to sacrifice a lot of things like your time, social life, and vacation. If you think you know High School Algebra, well, that means nothing once you study Math10 and Math12
2. Don't be frightened or don't panic if you will be under terror professors. Some of the terror professors are the best teachers. Just listen more and study harder.
3. Exercise. Exercise your brain by studying in advance or solving other related problems from different books. This will help you understand more the lessons and solve problems quickly.
4.Resourcefulness. A true blooded Mapuan is a resourceful person. There is our school library. And there are the different organizations who can help you with the "Old Testaments (OT)" these are past exams that can be a big help during your exams. But a true Mapuan also should remember the Golden Rule: One must not depend on OT alone.
So just follow these and you're good to go! :) In short: Study Hard and studying in Mapua isn't really that hard. Just remember on how to balance your studies, and social life. At first it will be very hard since we are under the Quarterm System. You will be able to cope up eventually.
Also remember that your parents are paying your tuition fee. A 3-unit subject costs P4500. So make sure that you are not letting your parents money go to waste.
And it is normal that Mapuans here on tumblr will say horrifying things about studying in Mapua. Well, everything that they say is true. So, everyone should get ready for this one hell of a ride. This is the scary yet awesome ride you'll ever experience: Being a Mapuan. \m/

I want be an engineer
so yeahp
my program now is computer science...
but i also want to be an engineer...
...
ever since, i have this thing with arts..
i always draw, sketch, paint and stuff...
and my interest in arts grew bigger when we had our interior design subject in highschool (yes highschool :)) the plates and stuff i still even got my complete set!!
I mean the T-square , scale ruler(?), the rotring case, the mighty expensive technical pen, masterboard etc. ...
and i know.. in engineering you also need mathematical abilities...
well in my case,i'm not really a 'genius' but i also love math (and my previous course is accountancy cuz' i thought i can use it there but not really , peace to the accountancy people out there )
maybe i should take a second degree after CS... uhm Archi? CE? maybe?
well after all,"it's never too late to be want you want."
;)
