I stumbled upon your ffrecs - thank you. I've read some MadaSasu and TobiSasu and it was refreshing to read something where writers put emphasis on character-accurate depictions. Mainly Sasuke is often written very off-character in fics. I want to ask you two questions: 1. If you were to change one thing in Naruto what would it be? 2. If you would like to rewrite Naruto one day - from what chapter would you proceed onwards?
Hello and thank you. I 'm repeating myself these days cause I don't have anything new in mind I guess, but I became very picky with fanfics, I now don't read anything new cause I'm not motivated and this happened because of all the healthy, unproblematic and woke crap from authors who instead of trying to write in character, they take all the "danger" from them, turning them in some off character idiots from some netflix teen drama. Anyway, I mostly try to understand why narration and plot go towards a certain direction, so mostly I follow the canon plot and fill in the holes. Like, without the Kaguya plot twist, that I found extremely boring, Obito and Madara wouldn't have been redeemed, and I admit that the concept of Madara who had manipulated to much, being manipulated in turn, was interesting. Without Uchiha massacre the Itachi and Sasuke relationship, Sasuke's motivations would be less strong and he might not join Orochimaru, thus he would not meet Team Taka. Without Itachi dying at the end of their fight he wouldn't know the truth from Tobi that way so he wouldn't act like he did later. Fix-it fics are cool and all, but without injustice and suffering characters wouldn't be so interesting.
This said, what I would change is the canon end pairings and the existence of the offspring, cause NH and SS are off character and interesting only for superficial ppl who self insert as those female characters. Imo a sequel would have been better with totally unrelated characters from the academy or smth, but ofc the authors should have invented new characters and powers while creating children of already loved characters with the same power as their parents was easier. This ruined everything for me anyway.
(pls don't send asks related to the ending and canon pairings as I wrote everything abt them already!)
Tbh before the ending happened I wrote In Power We Entrust...because I knew Sasuke wouldn't be given justice, and by justice I mean public recognition of the massacre as a decision from Danzo and the elders, clearing Itachi of all accusations and pardoning of Sasuke's consequent actions, so I wrote my post ending, where Sasuke lives in Konoha and Tsunade gave him justice but outside the village he's not trusted. Then I wrote What He Wanted, In The Dark and Of Feathers And Fangs to give myself explanation of the ending for Sasuke as the result of brainwashing, and I explored possibilities from that start, in a dark way because I can't not see it dark. So I understand my vision is extremely subjective, especially when darkfics are even less tolerated by preachy fans lol.
But I wrote more about my "ideal" ending here, here, here and here. Also kinda here, here and here.

What are these dastardly buns conferring about? Is it plans? Plans to poop on the floor and make me clean it up? Evidence suggests that the answer is "yes". They are turd conspirators. From left to right we have Jesse who has undiagnosed neurological issues from being raised in a meth lab, Brigitte who has dental issues from chewing on cage bars when she was neglected by her first home, Briarlord Zuko who has dental issues because his genes are terrible, and Leela who has one eye gone and one in bad condition due to glaucoma. They are part of our big medical care rabbit herd and have forever sanctuary here. Please understand that if you donate to their cause, you are supporting a lagomorph insurrection. #bunny #rabbit #conspirators #vivalarevolution #fourlegsgoodtwolegscleanourpoop https://www.instagram.com/p/B9O6MJiJviZ/?igshid=9lj6b2cyfvjf

omg THANK YOU
What do you think about Itachi handing Sasuke's care to Naruto? Everyone thinks it's "such a normal nice brother thing to do" lmao and I feel it just shows how controlling is itachi with Sasuke
Itachi is not supposed to be a normal nice brother, he's supposed to be a controversial character who knew he was a genius and admitted he had been arrogant, who made extreme choices because he had been pushed by his clan and cornered by Danzo, so he did what he thought would grant Sasuke to live in the village more or less safely, as the alternative Danzo had given him was that Sasuke would be killed with the rest of the clan, if he didn't kill said clan by himself taking all the blame for it.
He is a controlling character, it's his personality, being a genius and being several steps ahead of others, especially of Sasuke, he wanted his brother to follow the path he had chosen for him, stay in the village, get stronger until he would fight and kill him. He couldn't foresee meeting Sasuke at the inn when he was about to kidnap NAruto, and he couldn't foresee Orochimaru manipulating Sasuke, whose self-esteem was already low because of his father's treatment and of Itachi's belittling him after the massacre, until he deserted the village, risking his life and becoming an enemy for Konoha.
Itachi entrusting Sasuke to Naruto is a plot device to make Sasuke return to the village eventually, cause after killing Danzo, joining Akatsuki and planning more revenge in the name of his beloved brother, it was hard to make him come back to a place he hated for good reasons, having learned the truth, so imo authors used this idea to direct Sasuke towards Nar again, even though they also created the final fight because they so much wanted a final showdown between them I guess. Shounen tropes imo.
Writing in shounen, just like in all tv shows isn't perfect. Sometimes it isn't good even.

Hi, I wanted to know your opinion, fans expose Sasuke as some kind of insecure, shy and jealous man in front of Sakura, I know that he is an introvert and he tends to hide his feelings and that he will not flaunt his feelings, but I always thought that he is an emotional person, although he does not show this to a loved one I would have treated him differently, but maybe I'm wrong, he's still a traumatized person, and these fans are right and I don't understand Sasuke's character, but do you think he's a shy person and how would he treat a loved one in your opinion ?
Hi, fans have OOC headcanons they claim are IC 99% of the times, especially SS fans. Which I don't want to interact with, so next time everyone who reads this pls remember to write like S*kura and so on, so the name won't end in the tags. If it still works this way, I'm not active in here anymore and I'm not interacting with the fandom so I idk.
Anyway, Sasuke is not an insecure, shy and jealous man. He was shy as a child, towards his father who intimidated him, and towards Shisui whom he respected, but he was aloof in academy even before the massacre, and aloof is not shy, it's different. Like being an introvert is totally different from being shy. H*nata is shy, Sasuke is introvert. See the difference right?
As for insecure, Sasuke has a low self esteem because his father never paid attention to him and if he did it was to compare him with his genius brother, and because his brother manipulated him using such low self esteem to make him believe his story so that he'd stay in KOnoha to train until it was time to fight and kill him...that's why Sasuke trained so hard to get stronger, that's why he admires strength. But low self esteem is different from insecure. H*nata is insecure, I'm sure you can tell the difference.
When ppl portray Sasuke as insecure, shy, too emotional, it's OOC.
Sasuke keeps his feelings for himself but when he has something to say he says it, because he's a honest person. When he respects or admires someone he says so, he did it with N*ruto, and he praised S*kura's ability during the chuunin exam. He wasn't shy and insecure back then. When he loves someone he says it, look at how much he adored Itachi and how much he respected him. Everything else related to the post ending and the new stuff is a bad attempt at milking the original story creating new character that have to be related to the old ones or no one will care, that's why kishi created the new generation. Everything related to it is badly written, shippers can explain the badly written stuff however they feel better, it won't make them better and it will only make Sasuke OOC.

Hi, do you think Sasuke could have married Sakura out of guilt and as a sign of gratitude that she did not give up on him? Or does he really love her in a romantic way? I know that he cares about her in his own way, that she is dear to him, but is this romantic love?
Sasuke married Sak*ra because kishi wanted more money so he created the new generation that in order to be liked instantly by old fans had to be related to it and not new characters, that's why he created couples even if he initially wrote a shounen without romantic couples mostly, and this is the main reason they married, to create a new character for the new manga.
In universe Sasuke was tamed into submission and brainwashed, part of this was guilt tripping into believing everything he did was a crime to atone. Imo marrying sak*ra was a part of guilt tripping, not love and nothing romantic even if he did care about her as a friend in part 1.
