Her day at the clinic today had been a really slow one. That was expected when it came to her job; Kingsholm was small town and not everyday a concerned owner would rush through the doors of the clinic. Although Nina should consider that a blessing, since she didn’t want animals to get sick simply for the sake of her job and money. Peace and quietness was what this town was used to, nothing out of the ordinary, everything was always predictable. It was safe to say that her hometown was somewhat a safety blanket for her to fall back to, she always planned to return home one day, although being a veterinarian and opening up a clinic herself was something she only decided when she left for university. Today, it was just like her regular routine; close up the clinic, then pick up Sophia from the daycare and they would be curled up on the sofa watching her daughter’s favourite TV show. Clutching her daughter’s hand as they turned the corner down to the road leading to their home, it wasn’t until she felt Sophia tugging at her hand before she noticed there was something out of the ordinary on the pavement.
“Ian!” The toddler exclaimed as she tried to rush towards the blonde, but Nina noticed there was something…off about the woman. Before she suddenly saw the flash of crimson on her forehead. “Ian?” The brunette rushed towards her, crouching beside her. “Oh god, you’re hurt. Come on, let me help you up, and we’ll get the cut clean up at my place.” Helping Vivian up, it didn’t take long before they reached her home, before she guided her friend inside her living room. “Sophia, sweetie. Why don’t you go play with your dolls upstairs? Then we’ll have a tea party when I come up, alright?” She smiled at her daughter before she rushed upstairs, and Nina proceeded to the kitchen to find her first-aid kit and some clean cloths, before sitting beside Ian on the couch. After cleaning up her wound and patching it up with a bandaid, she leaned back to examine her handiwork. “Well…I tried to make it look as…inconspicuous as I can, but the pink bandaid will attract a little attention.” She said, a soft chuckle fell from her lips. “I’m better at dealing with animals than humans but…I think you’ll survive this time.”
