For the past 5 years or so I’ve been using Vivier, a medical grade skincare line. It all started when my mother who is a Registered Nurse started working at a plastic surgeons office as an aesthetic nurse doing clients filler, Botox, lasers etc. The centre she works in carries a line of skincare called Vivier, which you can only purchase in Doctor’s offices. Naturally my mother and I started using the line and have been faithful to it ever since, because it’s FANTASTIC! I have never been so happy with my skincare products.
First of all because my skin is on the dry side I do not wash my face in the morning, I only wash it at night. You may question this but think of it this way. Why do we wash our face? We wash our face because we want to wash away make-up, dirt, impurities and the grime of the day. When you wash your face at night and then wake up the next morning, there is nothing on your face to wash off and you don’t want to strip away the important oils on your skin. Of course there are exceptions to every rule but this is a good general guild line. That being said here are the products I use on a daily basis.
In the morning I put on Serum 10 (vitamin C, which is the holy grail of skin care products. It’s an antioxidant, it brightens, it evens out skin tone, and it fights free radical damage). Then I put on my Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 (sunscreen is THE most important anti-aging product you can wear. So wear it EVERYDAY). Skipping ahead to the evening I wash my face with the Hexam cleanser (it’s an antibacterial cleanser which is good for acne and mild enough for everyday use). Then I apply the Hydragel Complex (it has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural plumping and hydrating agent. Excellent for fine lines, wrinkles, and all around anti aging). Now it’s time to hydrate! I slather on my Nightly Renewal Cream (excellent moisturizer that has peptides for nourishing your skin over night). The last step is eyes, I use the Firming Eye Contour Cream (excellent moisturizer for firming up the delicate under eye tissue).
Vivier’s line is definitely on the pricey side, being that they’re high quality, medical grade skincare products but OMG are they worth it. I recently contacted Vivier and asked them some questions about their skincare line and why it’s so fantastic. I wanted to know why the ingredients in their products are so great for our skin and what makes them better than the other high end drugstore skincare lines.
They responded and I quote, “First is quality and potency of active and key ingredients. For example, there are many forms of Vitamin C, Retinol and Peptides. The more pure and potent the form/molecule, the more difficult it is to formulate a stable product. Therefore many brands will use weaker percentages or weaker derivatives of the key ingredients in order to get a stable product. We use the highest concentrations and quality of these ingredients and this results in some ingredients costing thousands of dollars per kilogram. This is a level of quality where not all skin care companies will go when developing and manufacturing their products. We also have a patent on our Vitamin C serums for the stability using the highest concentration L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). The more stable a product is the more the skin benefits.” Although there are drug store and designer high end skincare lines that are comparable in price they are nowhere near comparable in quality, in my opinion.
And of course the other important factor in developing and maintaining great skin is being faithful with your daily regimen. They put that in these words. “The other main factor is regime-oriented. To maximize results and effect we have carefully developed skin care regimes for targeted solutions where we have 4,5 and 6 products working synergistically together in 3 main steps: Preparing, Treating and Protecting. Unfortunately there is no one magic bullet or promise in a jar that will do the trick. The anti-aging, redness relief and diminishing age spots results our customers experience using a controlled system of products designed to work together are exceptional. Our regimes are even coupled with pre and post-procedures offered in the skin care clinics to take results even to the next level. It is similar in concept as going to the dentist where you brush your teeth at home between visits.”
Vivier’s skincare products really are exceptional and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to make an investment in themselves for exceptional skin. With a proper regimen and using products specifically targeting your skin concerns (wrinkles, dark spots, acne, redness etc.) I am confident your skin will be glowing in no time. And dare I say you may even find yourself going make-up (or at least foundation) free.
