Sweep Me Off My Feet

"Are we ready?" a voice asked from outside the dressing room.

"Can you give me ten minutes, it's not like you're the one whose flight got delayed!"

Yuuri Katsuki, as the world knew him more as the Burlesque dance superstar Eros, was trying to get his earrings on in a rush. He had just come back from his vacation in Japan and was almost late for a big show due to his flight getting delayed.

Tonight was a full house filled with fans who were excited to see Eros on stage after a while of being away on vacation.

"Ugh dammit!"

The fasteners of one of his heels just snapped. He had to scurry around his luggage for the new shoes he bought in Shibuya and use that for tonight. So much for breaking into them, Yuuri thought. Guess he'll have to break them in tonight.

"We're stalling as much as we can." the voice said from beyond the door again.

Yuuri ignored the voice and fastened the buckles of his heels and did a few practice steps.

"It's showtime."

Beyond the Kitchen

Yuuri couldn’t breathe.

Somewhere around him the event coordinator was asking him a question, but he was so far gone that the words flew past him without any thought.

The sound of his heartbeat rushing through his ears coupled with his nervous breaths over powered the gentle voice asking if he was okay. He was far from capable of answering, the most obvious example being that the fluorescent lights felt as if they were stabbing at his eyes.

Seconds later he had rushed off set, and thankfully no one followed him because the moment those double doors to stage 23 for the filming of Master Chef: International were behind him he had burst into anxiety filled hysteria.

Of course he had to go and embarrass himself when for the first time he was meeting his idol who also happened to be world class and Michelin three star rated chef Viktor Nikiforov, but with Yuuri’s luck he wasn’t quite sure why he assumed that this time would be any different from the rest of his life.

After making it back to his hotel room Yuuri had booked the first flight back to Japan with the cheapest available sitting for tomorrow at 2:45am, and until then all he wanted to do was forget the past seven hours ever happened, so as anyone with no fear for death or the consequences of their actions would do, he had set up camp at the bar in the lobby, and took advantage of the hundred dollars for food he was given when he was given a spot on the show and opened a tab beginning with a shot of vodka (which he didn’t like but it did the job), followed by the lovely wonders of tequila.

The next several hours blurred both together but also out of his memory, though Yuuri didn’t mind because that had been the whole point of his drinking escapades. Then he had been on his way to the airport after luckily the bartender called him a cab from hearing Yuuri ramble about returning to Japan, and had spend the next sixteen hours sleeping off his hangover on the plane.

He hadn’t informed his families of his arrival, so he was glad to make the journey through Fukuoka and Hasetsu in relative silence.

“Why...why did this day have to come so soon?”

After Yuuri heard the news that he, the prince of the Katsuki kingdom, was to meet his betrothed tomorrow afternoon, he couldn’t bring himself to spend time in the castle. He knew that this day was coming, but why was he kept in the dark all this time by his parents? All those talks, all those meetings with various other kingdoms...they were searching for a suitable fiance for him this whole time? Of course, the engagement was for business purposes, with important matters such as forming alliances and strengthening trades between their country and one of the more desirable ones. Even so, he couldn’t help but feel used, especially when his parents didn’t bother revealing to him any information about his betrothed, such as what their family name was, the country they hailed from or even their name.

And that’s why he was now here, at one of the most popular nightclubs the nearby town had to offer, drowning his worries away with each and every drink that he ordered while trying to enjoy his last free day as a single man. In order to blend in among the commoners, he wore simpler clothing, a casual black dress outfit with a red bow tie. He even slicked his hair back and put on a bit of makeup, just to keep up appearances in case someone at the club noticed him.

Downing yet another glass of champagne, the effects of the alcohol were finally getting to him as he loosened his tie and grabbed a nearby fancy boa, making his way over to the dancer pole. The alcohol had given him confidence to perform in front of a crowd as he grind up against it, spinning around the pole and performing a variety of different poses that had the audience watching in a mix of astonishment and amazement. It wasn’t at all wise for him to draw attention to himself like this, but he didn’t care. This was his night, and he was going to do what he pleased and pay the consequences later.

At the end of his performance, he went to sit back down, throwing the boa around his shoulders as he tried to catch his breath. He really needed another glass right about now...

That was when he spotted him. The most beautiful man in the entire club.

Silver hair, icy blue eyes, that beautiful smile...was this man really a commoner? His mind was a little hazy right now, but he could’ve sworn that he looked like one of the princes he admired...

He had to go talk to him.

“Hello beautiful” he purred, shrugging the boa off of his shoulders and wrapping it around the man before pulling him closer to him. “Mind if I join you?~”

‘‘Vitya?’‘ Yuuri moved a little closer to Viktor, reaching out to him. ‘‘It’s okay, I’m here... It was just a bad dream.’‘ Yuuri traced Viktor’s fingers with his own. ‘‘Do you want to talk about it?’‘

Yuuri suddenly became achingly aware of his bouncing leg at the sound of Viktor’s voice next to him. Yuuri stilled, barely glancing up to meet Viktor’s gaze, his stomach twisting. ‘’Talk? What about?’’
