Artist!Lance » “Earth without art is just eh.”
Lance has always loved creating things. Sometimes they were macaroni pictures his kindergarten class made, sometimes they were popsicle stick men he glued together with whomever was babysitting him, sometimes they were little sandcastles he made at the beach. It didn’t matter what it was, Lance loved making things.
When he stumbled upon painting, he fell in love. Figuring out how the colors blended together and learning new techniques was one of his favorite parts of school. He enjoyed filling up a blank canvas. Over time, he developed a preference for watercolor, but he didn’t mind using other paints. He found joy in all of it.
Now, he’s in college, and “undetermined.” He wants to pursue an art major. Of course he does. But every time he mentions it, he’s given the same old answer. “Are you sure art is a good career choice?” It’s driving him insane. Art is what he loves, so it’s what he should do, right? But only Lance’s family and a few close friends have seen what Lance can do with a brush. His style is what can only be considered unorthodox. It makes him wonder if it’d be acceptable in the world outside his home.
Lance needs to make his decision soon. Will he pursue art? Or will he be forced to leave it behind him?
