VLD Sapphic
This is a new blog to promote and encourage the creation of woman/woman content for the Voltron fandom! In addition to reblogging general wlw and female character content, this blog will also be hosting a monthly minifest involving one or two prompts that people are free to create content for.
At the moment, I’m still setting the blog up, so I’m just posting this to see if there’s any interest in this!
What can you do for now?
I’d love a signal boosting reblog to get the word out about the blog so I can see how many people are interested. I’ll soon be posting some more information about the monthly minifests, and some rules and FAQs.
The first month for the minifest will be November unless I see enough interest in the next couple of days to quickly put together a post for October.
The minifest is designed to be super low stress, so it will just be one or two prompts that creators can make any kind of fanwork for and self-post to be reblogged here and added to an AO3 collection (for fics).
*This blog will be discourse and hate-free, and no content will be reblogged if it contains any discourse or anti-sentiments (ship hate, character hate) within the post.

November’s prompts, should you wish to participate, are:
‘Rest’ or ‘Rain’
And a bonus dialogue prompt if you find those easier to work with: “Did anyone see you?”

The way it works is that you make some kind of wlw fanwork by the end of November for one (or more) of the prompts and post it to your chosen platform! You can make art, write a fic (even as short as a drabble!), make an edit, headcanons, whatever you want, as long as it is wlw!
This is meant to be as low-stress as possible, so even if you get started and don’t finish on time, no worries! Just post when you do finish and tag as usual, it will still be welcomed here!
When you post your content to tumblr (or just a link post if it’s hosted somewhere else) just use the tag #vldsapphicminifest or #vldsapphic within the first 5 tags, and ideally also @vldsapphic on the post itself, and I will see it and reblog it here! If you write fanfiction and post to AO3 you can also add your work to the AO3 collection.
Even if you are not going to participate, a reblog for signal boosting would be much appreciated!
And outside of the monthly prompts, whenever you create wlw content and put #vldsapphic within the first 5 tags, I’ll be sure to see it and reblog it here =)

Kiss Cam - Allura/Veronica
Written for the @vldsapphic October Minifest dialogue prompt “Well this is awkward...”

“Well this is awkward...” Veronica said, shifting in her seat and casting a sideways glance at Allura.
“Is it?” Allura asked, sounding surprised. “I thought this was a normal human tradition.”
Veronica’s face was burning. “Oh, it is...just...it’s awkward...”
All around them the crowd was chanting, “Kiss, kiss, kiss.”
Allura looked around with wide eyes, and then back up at the screen that showed them with a glowing heart around them. Veronica regretted bringing her to the game. She should have known something like this would happen. She was doing alright keeping a lid on just how flustered Allura made her, but kissing her? That wasn’t going to go well for her.
“I’m sure a kiss on the hand will suffice if you are uncomfortable,” Allura said, turning back to her with a concerned expression.
Veronica internally cursed herself. She should have kept her mouth shut, then she would have at least got a kiss, even if she was sure to somehow embarrass herself in the process.
“That’s against the rules,” she blurted.
Allura frowned. “Oh...then...what do you want me to do here?” she asked. “The last thing I want is to cause you discomfort.”
That really wasn’t helping Veronica’s silly crush. “Would you be uncomfortable?”
The crowed was starting to boo, and Veronica looked up at the screen. The counter had almost run out. They’d switch to another pair of people if they didn’t kiss soon.
“Only if my kiss would be unwelcome,” Allura said gently, raising a hand to cup Veronica’s cheek.
The crowd screamed and Veronica’s stomach was suddenly filled with butterflies. If Lance was watching this livestream, she knew he’d tease her mercilessly when he saw her next. He knew all her tells. She was lucky Allura didn’t yet, otherwise she would know at once just how badly Veronica wanted it.
“Not unwelcome,” she breathed, leaning closer.
“Then how is it awkward?” Allura asked with a frown. “I don’t understand.”
“Forget I said that,” Veronica said quickly.
“Alright.” Allura sounded confused, and would probably ask about it later. Veronica would probably fold like a house of cards and tell her all about how much she wanted her, but Allura was leaning closer and that was all that mattered now.
Veronica closed her eyes and blocked out the screaming crowd as their lips touched.

Can we create more than one work for the monthly prompt(s)?
Absolutely! Create as many works as you want for as many wlw ships as you want!
What sort of things should be tagged?
General triggers such as the content warnings on AO3 (underage, non-con, character death, graphic violence) and squick content such as hard kinks (e.g tentacles, blood play etc). There won’t be any policing of content, with appropriate tagging it’s up to consumers to control their own exposure by avoiding the things they don’t like.
What tags should we use on our tumblr posts to be seen by the blog?
#vldsapphic and #vldsapphicminifest are both tracked. You can use the first for general sapphic and/or female character content to be noticed and reblogged, and the latter for the monthly prompts in particular, but for it to show up on tracked tags the tags need to be within the first 5 tags on the post. Using @vldsapphic on the post will also be a great way to make sure your post is seen.
What if we don’t finish the monthly prompt piece on time?
No worries, just post it when you do finish and make sure to tag @vldsapphic so it will be reblogged and added to the masterpost for that month. This is a very low-stress minifest!
Is there a minimum word count for fanfiction?
Because this is meant to be low-stress, not really. Ideally, written fanworks would be longer than 200 words, but that’s not going to be enforced in any way.

Just some ground rules or participating in this minifest.
1. All content must be contain a female/female pairing (and this also includes trans women). Fanworks may of course include side and background pairings that are not wlw, but they must not be the focus of the fanwork.
2. All fanworks on tumblr must contain adequate content warnings for triggering or squick content or they will not be reblogged. (Admin will not be personally reading all fanfiction and will be relying on your tags to inform what tags to put on the reblog, so please tag appropriately and send this blog a message if you are unsure if something should be tagged or not).
3. NSFW content is welcome, but will only be reblogged on this blog if it is under a ‘read more’ separator or has a ‘sfw preview’. NSFW content can be added to the AO3 collection without fuss provided it is adequately tagged.
4. Content will not be reblogged from any openly anti blogs. If a fanwork for a monthly post contains anti-sentiment (e.g. ship hate, character hate) anywhere on it, even just a passing negative statement about another ship, it will not be reblogged here. Anti-behaviour will not be tolerated, and will result in blocking. The same goes for any discourse on a fanwork, it will not be reblogged here.
