Producer Charlie Skates was a little skeptical about having this mixtape be available via our blog. "I feel like it's a little too hard...not really what LiKuid Sounds represents".
Well, he does have a point. This piece of work is a little different than what we're used to posting on our blog let alone what we would place our 'LiKuid Sounds' logo on. Thing about it is, it's hot! 100%! Skates and VK are true LKDN affiliates and we support their every move.
Skates has been known for his beat battling abilities with insane drum patterns, loud snares and horns. - - - Just take a listen to track 4 "Shut It Down" by S. Blaw. It flat out makes you want to do something. "On my militant sh*t, you can call me Chuck D..." Tracks like Illpo's "Felt So Good" is pretty inspirational making you want to toast to a better life, while the track "Somebody" with Don Kotix captures the soulful side of things. And of course Lazarus stays on point with his lyrical creativeness on "Brand New Life".
Overall, this mixtape covers a wide range of sound featuring N.C. artists who all fit the mold.
