How deep do you think Taeyong's voice can go when he's rapping? Just curious to know, since I'm one of those Tyongfs who's madly in love with the sound of his voice...
you’re in good company, taeyong caught my eyes and ears pretty damn hard. 👌you can actually pinpoint how low he reaches, by looking at his vocal strengths and weaknesses which will tell you his voice type, and from there you can conclude how far down his supported and unsupported range can go which will give you the exact notes he can possibly reach.
taeyong’s strength is vocal fry. he’s very known for using that register (growls etc). he resonates quite richly in the lower register. he is less skilled with pitch and head voice, the chest voice isn’t powerful either. and yet: when he sings and speaks normally, he is sweet-sounding. tells you what: light baritone!
most baritones’ comfortable range goes down to A2, and if they train or push for it, F2 is possible. the lighter baritones don’t go down as far. taeyong might have a supported low tone around C3 and a bit further down. i think he could do it, i’ve heard many a vocal coach say that he has extreme potential.
that taeyong is recently taking his career and songmaking into his own hands will also have a huge effect. it strengthens his comfortable singing and gives him better pitch control. i wish baekhyun would lend him his vocal coach for a while, the results would be glorious.
