As Shy As A Deer
Void lore for those that don’t know it because I’ve seen a lot of people either forget some of this or genuinely don’t know cause the arg is lost to time
ok so it’s been awhile sense void paradox however I believe it’s stated the void is either one of to things, either the space between dimensions or something that travels/floats around in that between space as its own thing.
the void has its own creature living in it, we see them on an old live stream where Jess plays hide and seek and in McD. They seem to be the same creatures (corrupted souls that used to be human) however it’s not confirmed.
Halla the Zeus guy that gaurds the celestial canon is from the arg. We learn from the arg that his parents created the canon to fight off a comet and we can assume that comet came from the void or is like a warning sign of it. Cause we see it in the second half of season 7 trailer.
IRENE DID NOT JUST KILL HER DAUGHTER FOR SHIT AND GIGGLES. SHE INFACT DID TURN HER INTO A RELIC TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE FROM THE VOID. I see a lot of people confused on Irene’s motives so there you go. The girl we see playing in the heaven/irene dismension in season 6 is probably the first incarnation of Irene’s child who she turned into a relic. The other lady we see in the background is also Irene and the other dude is in-fact Shad.
that child is also most likely NOT Reena! Or at least not the reena we see the most of.
The flashback we see in the celestial canon is Shad probably threatened McD reena’s life because McD Aphmau is probably trying to turn her into a relic and or she’s just there for plot fuck it idk you decide.
THE VOID IS AN ACTIVE THREAT TO ALMOST EVERYTHING JESS WRITES. OR IS AT LEAST PRESENT IN THEM. IT CAN TECHNICALLY ENTER ANY DIMENSION SHE HAS WRITTEN. Besides of course cocomau, so no the theory that they’re all gonna die and Cocomau is going to be the end all be all is probably an unlikely outcome. The second Irene has no more power to split her soul anymore she is by all accounts at rest or has made some sort of peace. And it seems that Aph and Aaron’s story seems to end with the first part of season 7 and the void part is going to end with this new character. Although one way or another someone gonna fight a comet probably.
Anyone interested in Void Crystal lore?
(Note: The word "Osega" is used with a few variations. This is from a doc I have written about things from my interpretation of The Void. "Osega" is just the term people of the void refer to worlds/universes that are not of the void)
~~~~
Void Crystals: Theorized to be condensed form of the void itself, its properties are being studied across the multiverse and even in the void itself. They’re found all over the void, but appear in the osega's universes almost completely randomly, though they do seem to appear more in osegian universes with stronger connections to the void. Some tribes of the void have some limited control over them, though the crystals true origins are a mystery. The ones in the void grow consistently, as well as the crystals on those who are void infected. They hold an almost limitless amount of energy, but they're always absorbing more, to the point anyone who possesses an ability to understand rocks will get overwhelmed by the extreme amount it holds, though they also say that the energy of the void feels almost like nothing. (Though if they have had a void candy, then they'll be able to describe what that ‘nothing’ feels like). Void Crystals can be used as batteries easily, just never put them under magical stress (read below).
Properties of Void Infection:
When a Void Crystal is put in magical stress, it has a chance of infecting a target.
Void Crystals grow out of the infected target’s body, and don’t stop growing.
Void-Infected also become much more resilient, and also grow much larger to support their new bulk and sprouting crystals
Most Void-Infected lose their mind, and become extremely hostile.
Those Void-Infected who didn’t lose their mind often will hold extreme grudges against who or what caused them to be infected. Most of the rare few who didn’t lose their mind when infected still lost memories of who they were before infection. Memories can be retrieved with strong memory restoration spells. Those who have done the spells noted that it is much more difficult to work with a Void-Infected, because their “mind is dark”.
While Void-Infection is not contagious, those infected that didn’t lose their mind can temporarily infect other things that are weak-minded to do their commands.
Void-Infection can be reversed with Illumisum, or a source of Osegian magic that is much stronger. The downside of the latter is that it usually has to be a source of a different type of infection, HOWEVER the two infections will cancel each other out.
Void Candy is tied to one of the plants from the void. I haven't written much down for them yet, but they look similar to void crystals, but are edible and don't absorb light as well. If somebody not from the void consumes it, it makes their mouth feel slightly numb, and the best way to describe its taste is that it tastes like nothing while still being something.
also I am fully aware I need to fix some grammar. It's my own lore so when I wrote it down I was just trying to get it down XD
Why no fursona? 👀
Too many options! I've tried out a few different ones but none of them were ever like "yeah... This is my fursona" lol
Especially since there are so many combinations you can have!
I had a friend in rural middle of nowhere bible belt high school in the 00s who had a wolf/rabbit hybrid fursona, as an example. Dude knew what he was about lol
I'm just a very indecisive person lol
I've come up with some sona lore regarding Lament and the realm of the Void
As I mentioned in the pinned post, the Void is a layered reality- its own space between spaces. There are four layers that I've come up with so far and will list them as follows:
hoo boy OK
didn't want to dump this in the fan week tag because it's TECHNICALLY not FFIV but "crossover" did make me think of it.
this also isn't technically a "crossover" given that its entirely in-universe and just happens to be directly RELATED to FFIV but i wanted to talk about it and i figured out how to use my 6yo chromebook as a drawing tablet last night so here goes
i have this FFXIV OC who is quite literally "Edward but an evil bug demon" and i got so attached to him i'm making a whole-ass doll, with some help from my friend for some of the more complex engineering parts. here's some of my design sketches and color tests and what will eventually be his torso (he's being made out of a kind of butterfly-skeleton lookin BJD). It's mostly head shots because i was clearly struggling a lot with how to do the hair and the placement of the eyes, though i think i've sorta figured it out. the final outfit will have a diadem that kind of incorporates the eyes and antennae.
the strings-between-arms idea was from before i was offered the doll with the hollow torso, and i ended up abandoning it for structural reasons anyway. he still has four arms, though, two with human hands and two that are more mantis adjacent, which will have those white-and-blue stripes found on the Antlion's mandibles in Amano's concept art. It will be a bit difficult to rig on the torso, given it's just a ribcage held up by a spine, but i think it's doable as long as the additional arms are smaller
i'm not sure on the actual SHAPE of the antennae -- was kind of thinking something feather-like, but that might be too far into moth territory.
i was like "oh i definitely need the hairstyle to resemble Edward's so it's obvious who he's supposed to be riffing off of!" but as it turns out: Edward does not have an "iconic" haircut. Most every image of him has something different.
the character's name is Prince Orfeo of the Heartless Harp, once the sovereign of the Golden Principate of Damcyan before the world fell into darkness, now a voidsent whose beautiful face and enchanting voice mask the rapaciousness of a predatory insect.
He has a heart of gold, they say, but when has gold ever loved anyone back?
FFXIV lore and how it relates to FFIV lore under the cut but the short version is: i saw the words "damcyan antlion" in a dungeon and went fully insane
Types of Void
Hehehe more lore at last!!! These are all headcanons, so know these aren't canon to their source material. This gets quite long, so everything is under the cut!
List of void types so far:
Gold void (Rain World)
Abyssal void (Hollow Knight)
Nightmare void (Don't Starve)
End void (Minecraft)
Aetherial void/shimmer (Terraria)
Memory Void (Sky: Children of the Light)
This document contains spoilers for all of the above games!
Back to the lore masterpost
I’m in the midst of conceptualizing some silly goofy analog horror stuff as my partner and I start to work on Doodle Den! All we know so far is we’re going for a “Painting with Bob Ross” and “The Goodnight Show” feel, wanting to tap into a sense of nostalgia that isn’t really there.
My partner and I had been thinking about working together on a big project for a long time and finally a decent idea crossed our mind.
“Doodle Den started as an obscure cartoon strip and then a comic series in the early 80’s, later getting adapted into a television show in the late 90’s after gaining enough popularity.”
