Chapter 1-1: An (un)Faithful Encounter

"Hey voidsent!"

The hunter's voice echoed down the narrow back street of Ul'dah. Evangeline froze, thoughts moving at a million miles an hour. How could this have happened? I've been so careful and always checked to make sure I wasn't followed. Have I gotten sloppy? How much does he know? Is he alone? Who sent him?

She turned to face her would be attacker with a smile and a dagger poorly concealed behind her back.

"Are-are you talking to me? Can I help you with something?" Fuck Eve what a stupid question. Of course he's talking to you! You're the only one here!

The hunter laughed bitterly then started stalking forward. His icy glare pierced through his golden mask with the eyes of an amused predator stalking easy prey.

"Listen," Eve said trying to keep her voice calm and even. "I don't know what you think you know about me, but you've got it all wrong. I'm not a voidsent I'm-"

"A likely story," the hunter cut her off. "You reek of the void. So either you're a void researcher who just made a visit to the void and got corrupted, or you're a voidsent. Either way I can't let someone like you remain alive."

"Tch. What narrow thinking," Eve spat. He's almost in striking range, I'll only get one shot at this.

Eve sprang at the hunter and ripped his mask from his face. Luck was on her side, as the hunter was not expecting such an attack. She left the mask on the ground and sent a quick prayer to whatever god would listen this would buy her enough time to get away. Unfortunately, the gods were not listening if the rapid footsteps behind her were any indication.

She didn't get very far before before she felt a tug on on her sleeve. "LET GO OF ME YOU CREEP!" She shrieked, but nobody was around to listen. He yanked at her, knocking her off balance and straight into the hunter's chest.

And somebody got hurt.

Rambling thoughts:

I don't know! Everything is so context dependent! I think Saga is a bit standoffish and awkward, not really sure how to engage with others or how much she should even let herself engage. I took off cute because of that standoffishness, but underneath that (and not very far), I think she's actually really adorable. Maybe I shoulda marked it!

I don't know how many dots equals "average". I think normally it's 3 but I could be wrong. This character sheet is just assuming that under Social, Body, and Mind that 3 dots is the average. ^^;

I'm assuming all others (Skills, Beliefs, Priorities) that the average doesn't exist. Having a dot in it at all means some degree of belief. I UNNO.

Anyway, she's really obsessed with keeping her appearance neat and tidy to a ridiculous degree-- so 5 dots in hygiene for sure. She is also obsessed with carrying out her duty for her village and being hailed as a hero for doing so (maybe I shoulda maxed out her desire for Fame too). I think she also is absolute trash with money and frequently broke because of it. She likes to spend it!

The Occult Eye: Erja Hadphen

Have an item that has brought you nothing but bad luck since bringing it home? Did a family member gift you an odd doll that you swear watches your every move? Voidsent? In -your- home? It’s more likely than you think!

Any and all oddities can be investigated; nullified via containment or neutralized/dispelled completely by Occultist, Erja Hadphen. With over 25+ years dedicated to the craft, Erja has tackled cases in Golmore, Kugane and most recently the city-states of Eorzea. They received training in the folk magicks of Golmore Jungle (similar to Conjury) as a young adult. When old enough to travel and investigate magick on their own, Erja was drawn to the occult. Further training came with experience, as well as the occasional visit to a Sharlayan contact.

Each culture has their own superstitions, tabboos, and versions of curses/hexes; Hydaelyn itself is rife with voidsent eager to cause havoc among it’s inhabitants. The more Erja saw, the more they wanted to make use of what they had learned. And so the Occult Eye was born! Occult investigation, Voidsent hunting, artifact retrieval and containment/nullification specialists~

meet sileas fulke - my new voidsent hunter, located on balmung!  sileas was tainted by the void at a young age, due to her father’s attempt at summoning to obtain a voidsent’s power. the ritual ended in tragedy, and sileas barely escaped with her life, spending most of her childhood and teenage years crippled and on the streets. at twenty-three years old, after years of rehabilitating herself, she now devotes what little remains of her life to slaying voidsent across eorzea - in hopes to rid them from the land and spare others from the same fate she met. ic, she is a quiet, somewhat cold summoner, her trusty carbuncle always at her side.  if you ever see me on balmung, feel free to say hi!

LFRP - SAGA ASVORANDI

Saga is a very homesick, very emotional Viera who feels completely out of her element in Eorzea, but is desperate to keep that firmly under wraps. Her goal is to travel this unfamiliar land to learn as much about it as possible while lending her services to the populace as a bounty hunter (particularly where voidsent are involved). She believes in herself and her own abilities above all else and is far too proud to back down from challenges. Her greatest desire is to find and defeat her rival @the-void-stared-back. Until that day, gaining a reputation as an accomplished adventurer and voidsent slayer will have to suffice.

Hair: Saga's hair is dark purple with light highlights

Build: Saga is muscular and statuesque with perfect, perhaps too perfect, posture.

Common Accessories: Saga always has weapons on her and they are always very apparent. She usually has a large, imposing lance on her back, but that is occasionally replaced or accompanied by a healer's staff. She has a bag full of miscellaneous trinkets that remind her of her homeland or that she finds charming in these new lands (they are often very strange). She carries a book with her that she takes notes in when finds something especially interesting (or irritating) in her travels. It is also filled with various details regarding voidsent. It has poorly drawn doodles in the margins as well-- mostly stick figures of herself leaping or fighting stick figure monsters.

Profession: Traveling adventurer/bounty hunter/voidsent slayer

Hobbies: Saga loves to draw. She is not good at it. She also likes to sing. She is much better at that. Other hobbies include extensive travel, reading bestiaries, reading travel guides and historical accounts, reading absolute trash that she is not aware is absolute trash, cooking, and sparring.

Languages: She speaks the common tongue of Eorzea with a slight accent that identifies her as being from far away (the Skatay forest in Dalmasca specifically)

Residence: Saga does not have a have a permanent home. She'd like her permanent home to be her village, but according to the laws of the Green Word she cannot return there.

Birthplace: Asvorandi village in Dalmasca.

Patron Deity: Saga does not worship specific gods; she adheres to the Green Word and devotes herself to nature. Well. And herself. If Saga worships anyone outside her village, it is herself.

Spouse: Not a thing Saga understands or has going on.

Children: Nope.

Parents: She's been told that her father was a very impressive guardian of the forest. Her mother is a healer in Asvorandi.

Siblings: Saga has 6 older sisters. Her mother had hoped the 7th child would be a son. Instead, it was Saga.

Other Relatives: She considers the women of Asvorandi her family. Well. Excluding the one she is on a quest to find and defeat.

Pets: Saga has a pet chameleon that travels with her, often in her bag, that she has named Nav (short for Navigator).

Hunter: Saga has been out in the world taking on jobs to prove herself a capable investigator and hunter. She often gets in over her head because she takes the jobs others won't just to make a name for herself. Perhaps you can help her? Perhaps she can help you!

A world devoid of Voidsent: Saga hates Voidsent more than anything else. She blames their existence on her inability to return home. She is looking for one Voidsent tied to a woman she says is a traitor to their village, but in the meantime she will chase down and destroy any Voidsent she hears about just to become strong enough to complete her goal and to protect future people from being manipulated by them. Hate Voidsent? You ARE Voidsent? That's a good way to interact with Saga's angry side.

Memories of Home: Saga misses her homeland. She misses her village. She misses being immersed in the culture she grew up in. If you are interested in hearing about where she came from, she will want to tell you. If you have come from there too, she will want to be around you.

Cooking and Music: Saga loves to sing and loves to cook. She enjoys other people who are similarly interested in these pursuits.

Healers and Historians: Saga is a marginally skilled healer, but her skills could be better (she focuses on fighting far more than she does tending to wounds). Regardless, she has the utmost respect for healers and would love to be better at the art. She also really wants to learn about the world around her. If your character is a healer or particularly knowledgeable, she'd love to meet you.

Ask for help: Saga will always help strangers.

I have craaaazy work hours. I work the night shift M-F. That means that I’m on very early in the morning and sometimes in the late afternoon/early evening. I’m usually not on very late unless it’s a weekend.
