sighs wistfully as i think abt my thunderbolts oc and bob and yelena and the team dynamic with my oc in the mix

kicking my feetsies cuz i know alexei is always tryin to make baylen laugh (they've barely ever chuckled) and yelena only joins in whenever tensions are high bc everyone ends up laughing when alexei fails at making baylen laugh (the biggest win ever is when alexei gets them to crack a smile, and the bigger the smile, the bigger he's won)

baylen and bucky get into pissing-stsring contests where theyre just Grouchy but bucky Knows Better Now (growth) than to start fights but baylen is stubborn and just glares at him and hes also stubborn and glares back until something draws one or both of their attention (usually bob, for baylen, and usually his phone, for bucky)

yelena and baylen and ava spend a lot of time training together me thinks... baylen has almost made both of them drown, yelena has almost choked baylen out, and ava has phased right into baylen's body on accident when trying to phase in front of them (comes with the territory of being mostly water, whenever baylen is training they pull their physical walls down more so their structure is very wobbly solid-fluid)

and walker....... hmmmmmm he tries to get on their good side i think and baylen isnt particularly mean to him but they don't make it easy ro like them, either. they're cold-shouldered, mostly quiet, critiques john the most despite not even knowing the shit he's done (not at first, at least. they get educated on their teammates pretty quickly), but they're not like. antagonizing him on purpose. eventually they soften i think, like stone under a current, they smooth out around the edges and i THINK...... im debating...... but i THINK they become besties, at some point. which is funny cuz i didnt rly like walker until thunderbolts. which is why it makes sense that baylen wouldnt like him at first, but then would be like. alright you're in my circle now.

ive talked at length abt baylen and bob but i hold them so special and close to my chest.... theyre best friends at first (i think bob is a big reason why baylen softens up to john, because i think bob and john develop a really good friendship, so baylen is like. alright friend of my friend might as well be my friend.) and then. ooghhggg best friends that start to get a little extra close and finding comfort in each other. and baylen finds similar comfort in yelena, but when they start to feel like they did with gordon, their late boyfriend (rest in piece beloved tom cavanagh hes not dead but i killed his character), they get Scared. they 100% start to pull away. not drastically but the flutter feeling gets too intense, makes them feel sick, they start to sit a little less close to bob, they stop seeking comfort from him after nightmares (instead, suffering alone in the darkness of their bedroom, only lit by the blues and greens of their lavalamp), and its probably a mixture of the entire team telling baylen 'you're fucking things up' for them to face it and try to talk to bob in an Adult Way. but its probably like. john, then ava, then yelena, then alexei making a comment abt how bob's looked a little sad lately, and bucky being SOOOO blunt that baylen almost chokes him out with a water bubble around his head, but they don't, they talk to bob like a normal human being (well. as normal as they are. for being a mutant and not a human.) but they are 100% honest in being afraid because of their experience. its probably a mix of 'i dont want to. cling to you, suffocate you. i dont want to jump into something when i still see his face... i hear him, and i need to grieve properly before i commit to anything with... you, or anyone else' and bob. BOB. yall know hes gonna be just. 'oh Honey. im a mess too, its okay. we'll go at whatever pace you need, whatever pace works. have you started therapy yet?' (no, they havent, so they shake their head while theyre. Sort Of Almost Crying. because they did not expect bob to be so gentle even though that is who he is.) 'okay, you'll be starting therapy. and you're gonna come to me after your nightmares, or you're gonna go to yelena because i know she can comfort you just as much as i can.' anyway. itd definitely be a blend of friendship-romance for a While until baylen feels like theyve worked through their issues enough to not throw up everytime they think about hugging, holding, or kissing bob, or any other forms of physical affection that they've been holding themselves back from. itd be a WHILE before they get there (potentially like post-doomsday is how long itd take which means im going to just make up fake canon right now and say they deal with doomsday whatever the fuck that means and then the thunderbolts are back in the tower again so shit continues as normal for the most part)

anyway. they eventually become a couple. it just takes time.
