Hour 16: Blaine is a Senile Jackass

I hate Blaine.

Not because he is difficult in any way, but rather because of the exact opposite. He's awful at life.

He specializes in a pokemon type that is only marginally more difficult to beat than Rock type, he sorta looks like Dr. Robotnik and his gym is set up in such a way that if you have basic, cursory knowledge of pokemon you can avoid fighting every single member of his Gym. Whatta challenge!

And, of course, for beating him you get Fire Blast. He then explains that it would be best to teach it to a fire Pokemon (sigh...) like - and I quote - Charmeleon or Ponyta.

Really, Blaine? You're the master of fire pokemon and you think it would be a great idea to waste Fire Blast on a fucking Ponyta? Like, not even a Rapidash. At least Rapidash is a badass stallion who can destroy worlds with its incredible stats and/or delicious pun of a name alone(it works on so many levels!). Yet you think it's a good call to teach the strongest fire attack known in Kanto to a baby horse. Yes. That's clearly using its full potential.

And, of all the fire pokemon you could have picked, you picked one with comparably low special attack. Ninetales, Magmar or even like, I dunno, goddamned Moltres (who learns otherwise horrid attacks) wouldn't be a better pick? You dementia-ridden bastard. Maybe this is why I demolished your entire gym with a single pokemon (Lapras), spamming a single attack (Surf). Even in the next generation (Gold/Silver), you think it's a good idea to pick up a pokemon that is twice as easy to kill with a water pokemon than what you were previously using. Clearly the only explanation for why you lost the first time was that your pokemon weren't fucking fragile enough already. Quality rationale there, old bean.

I hope you get put in a home. And your family never visits you.
