It wasn’t like she had planned coming this way but a part of her knew that Rouge was one if not the best person to come to for this moment. Rouge knew emotions, she gave those ‘I’ve seen things and I’m mature because of them’ vibe while also keeping that air of ferocity to her that had Amy sometimes feeling envy, Rouge found a way, her way to be herself and it was something she was still struggling to grasp at.
So when those words leave the bat’s mouth and her hands are gently yet firmly grasped, she has to keep herself from gasping in surprise when her feet leave the ground and suddenly she’s higher up, eyes ever slightly twinkling in wonder but also relief. However she gives a hollow chuckle at what Rouge says next.
“You sure you want to listen to a sob story?”
It’s a light tease, her best attempt to shrug off her own anxiety, her own troubles that are rearing their head and trying to slam her down before she can get the strength to pick herself together. She ignores them for now in favor of trying to use some form of humor to distract.
