it's not fair to Voltage at all, and the amount of blogs literally DEDICATED to doing this is absolutely ridiculous.
if you really love an artist, would you go adding your own watermarks and posting all their art for free online after they've specifically asked you not to? indie band? no? then why are you doing it to Voltage?
I'm not sure if people are aware but Voltage isn't some sort of mass company that has tons of money. they've actually been in the red for multiple years at this point! so you are really harming them by posting everything online!
they shut down their American branch bc they couldn't afford it (thankfully they'll continue translating games for now, but...)
I get that some of the stuff is expensive but that doesn't mean you can just post it for free online bc you think it's too much
and I know not everyone can afford it, but unfortunately like...if you can't afford it you can't afford it. it doesn't give people the right to go posting stuff that Voltage has clearly asked people not to post. and just bc it hasn't been released in English yet doesn't give you the right to post it, either. people can either wait until it comes out in English or download the Japanese version themselves, they're not entitled to getting to see that content for free.
and if you add your own watermarks to the images or ask "don't post this without crediting me!" a double giant fuck you, thanks. :) (pretty sure I shouldn't even have to explain why that's fucked up???)
most importantly!! you can try to argue whatever you want as to why it’s not harmful or it’s good to post CGs, but the point still stands that Voltage has repeatedly told us not to post the CGs publicly, so doing so is directly disrespecting and disregarding that policy.
