Soulmate AU

AU where everyone has a physical trinket that splits in half. It's very special and if you give a half to another you are putting half of your life in their hands. If it breaks it takes away half of their lifespan. The trinket with glow with the color of that person's quintesscence if the one holding it is their soulmate.

Lance got with a very beautiful lady who had been cheating on him. He was unaware of such and thought they had a great relationship. She was just a gold digger though and when he went up to her one night all stuttery and blushing she knew what was going on. Lance confesses how much he likes her and gives her half of his trinket and she looks unimpressed. “You know there’s was 0% of this glowing right?” “Yeah i know they’re rare but I wouldn’t say 0%...” “No Lance, you’re aware that I've been using you for money right? You can’t be that dumb to not know right?” “I.. what? You don’t mean that, this is a cruel prank?!” “Sorry Lance but I am not going to see you if you’re bringing all this love crap into it” As she’s leaving she throws the trinket behind and Lance knows he’d be too late too save it from falling and breaking. Then Keith catches it and is like “I want to ruin her life you didn’t deserve that...” Lance is awestruck and just says thanks. Keith goes to give him the trinket and notices it glowing red and time slows for both of them. Keith is suddenly not as cool and composed and is very shy. Neither of them know what to say after the drama show that just happened. “I’m Lance and would you like to go get some coffee?” “Keith, and I would love to” Cuteness ensues.
