Voltron Headcanon;

After Shiro disappeared the team went on missions and ended up losing Lance. Keith was mourning more out of anyone because he loved Lance dearly but never said anything. A year later on the anniversary of Lance's death Keith and Hunk mourn and Keith ends up sobbing and Hunk hugs him(being the Hunk he is) and they kiss. Keith found his soulmate and so did Hunk.

bilingual keith

i always see stuff about bilingual lance but where’s my mandarin speaking bilingual keith??? anways so here’s some stuff i thought of

keith is taiwanese and he grew up with his dad speaking to him in mandarin but once he started going to school he spoke more in english

his dad spoke back in english too mostly which is why keith’s chinese is mostly only functional and really not that eloquent

he can carry a conversation and make jokes but even that requires a lot more effort than he would like

he took chinese in school but he can only write dumb shit like “do you wanna die” and “i want to eat”

taiwanese is even harder for him. listening to it and understanding is easy but speaking it is Hell

he feels really disconnected from his culture a lot of the time and he would go through sporadic bursts where he would just obsess over taiwanese fashion and media

that red bandana we all know and love? yeah. it was kind of inspired by the face mask trend but he didnt want people to think he was sick or something

he kind of hates chinese for being so damn hard to learn to write. there’s so many characters??? and so many pen strokes??? why cant it be like english where there’s an alphabet and you can just put it together???

he would like to first of all thank god and all the heavenly beings for the existence of the chinese keyboard though. ping ying is so much easier than writing

sometimes when he’s nervous and doesnt want other people to know he’s mutters to himself in mandarin (everyone totally knows he’s freaking out though they just dont know about what)

you know the whole dont know a word in english but know it in another language thing? it doesnt ever really happen to him cause he just knows everything better in english. really the only things he cant translate are insults and the names of food

“can you miss a place you’ve never been to?” the answer is yes. keith doesnt feel like he’s taiwanese enough to really be like yeah im taiwanese and it kills him

Voltron headcanons

I usually don’t really think of my own headcanons, but let’s face it - we all have those. So I’ve been thinking what would I put in the story if I was about to write a VLD fanfic. This is what I came up with:

- Hunk takes blame fot others a lot, but then makes sure they do the right thing in the end (whatever it is) not to spoil them.

- Shiro has trouble sleeping. Just... He was a prisoner for a year, forced to battle for his life, had own friggin arm taken away from him, and basically lived through a year of a hell. Yeah. HE CAN’T SLEEP.

- Also sometimes it’s because of the terror of what he’s been through, and sometimes because he feels overhelming guilt towarts leaving Adam behind. He thinks about all “what could have been” if he wouldn’t head for the Kerberos. Those nights are the worst.

- Keith wears his trademark gloves because he thinks they look cool and edgy and not for practical reasons.

- Lance loves Shakira. He’s also a very good singer so sometimes he can be seen in the kitchen, early in the morning rockin' “Hips don't lie”. Dancing is involved ofc.

- Keith actually practiced “Vol-Tron chant” in his room alone. He still doesn’t get it but is waiting for a good moment to show Lance.

- Pidge is super into working non stop mode if she finds something interesting. Others check on her regurarly when that happens, making sure she does eat and drink once in a while, because she tends to forget that basic needs exist.

- Coran is the saddest person in the Castle Ship (hence why he understand Lance longing for home so well) but makes sure no one can tell, by making silly jokes. Allura knows anyway and she respects him and loves him like a second father.

- She misses girls she could talk to and wish she could be girly-like friends with Pidge, but since she’s pretty unconvential Allura learn to respect that, and doesn’t push. (Pidge tries to make an effort and be more girly once in a while after she realises).
