Summary: A very charismatic king asks you to a dance.
A/N: This is based on a lovely TikTok I saw the other day. This is sort of an AU where vampires are not visible in mirrors. Also, please excuse any grammar mistakes. English isn't my first language. Enjoy.

The Palazzo was livelier than usual. Nobles, royalties and some common folk flooded the wide halls of the palace. Everyone was draped in the finest clothes they owned. The excitement of the people was quite obvious; the kings of Volterra decided to host another ball. It wasn't as rare as many would think but it was certainly a chance of a lifetime. However, it came as a surprise that most people could attend this ball. No matter your status, you could have a chance to be a guest. Only if you knew the proper etiquette and had proper clothing, of course. It was a ball, after all. But as a result, there were many new folks to such occasions. So were you.
Upon hearing the news of the Palazzo's ball, you had prepared some clothing. You had waited eagerly for this night as you had dreamt about attending a dance for your whole life. And it finally came. As you entered the beautiful palace, you couldn't help but stare at the elegant architecture, the gorgeous paintings and it's good-looking residents. It was truly a different life, you had decided. One that you would've enjoyed.
The kings made sure to greet all of the guests and you weren't an exception. As you walked deeper into the palace, you met the three kings. Two of them only seemed to greet people because of the etiquette but the king in the middle loved to strike up a conversation with those who seemed interested in talking. He seemed eager to get to know the newcomers yet the gloves on his hands made him seen a bit closed off.
You continued your way to the ballroom. Once you arrived, your breath hitched in your throat. It was gigantic and full of people. You made your way over to the side to take in the scene better. There was a huge set of stairs right next to your right carved from the finest stone. The room had a rich color palette. Gold, red and white seemed to be the main set of colors but you could find blue and brown as well. Just as you were looking at the paintings all across the ballroom, a fine gentleman decided to stroll over to you.
"Quite a beautiful scenery, isn't it?" he offered you a drink which you gladly accepted.
"Yes, I must say I'm impressed." you smiled before taking a sip. Based on the taste, it was wine. A fine wine at that. "Mhm, I don't recall tasting such an excellent beverage before."
"I agree with you, it is certainly great wine." he returned the smile.
"May I get your name?" you asked after downing your glass.
"It is Demetri." he bowed a little. Once he looked up, his eyes traveled elsewhere and a clear disappointment became written on his face. "Ah, I must apologise. It looks like I'm needed elsewhere."
"It is quite alright." you stepped away and gave a small bow. "It was a pleasure to get to know you."
"The pleasure was all mine." he smiled, took your glass as a form of etiquette then hurried away.
It only took him a few seconds to disappear in the crowd; and you were left alone once again. While you two have talked, most folks already started dancing. For a moment it looked like you were the only one left without a partner but to your delight some people were still drinking by themselves on the sideline. You walked a bit closer to the musicians in hopes of finding a dance partner. It wasn't a secret that you came here to dance, after all. To your luck, someone seemed to have noticed you.
"Excuse me." the voice came from behind you. As you turned to look at the suitor, your breath hitched in your throat for the second time this evening. It was one of the kings who had stopped you. "May I have the pleasure of a dance with you?"
He offered you his hand which you took shortly. "Of course, Your Majesty."
"Please, call me Aro." he answered softly as he led you to the dance floor.
You nodded as he faced you once you had enough space. The moment felt magical as a new song started playing. The king began slowly dancing with you, adjusting to your speed. As you two got familiar with each other in the sense of dancing, Aro started a conversation. He asked you common questions which you kindly replied to and returned the favor. Only after quite a few minutes of talking did you notice that his gloves were gone. It was a great touch in your opinion. This made him seem a bit more open to you. Sadly, you could hear the change in the music which meant that a new one was being played.
Aro stepped away from you for a second but never released your hand. He smiled at you and gently pulled you out of the crowd. You thought he grew bored of you for a minute but you realised he was taking you somewhere else. The king didn't seem to have an ulterior motive as his grip on you was light. You could've easily taken your hand back and refuse the offer to go with him; but you didn't. There was something about him that seemed to call you in.
He led you through a bunch of halls that were full of paintings. Often they depicted the kings themselves. You couldn't really remember how many of these halls you have passed but you found yourself in a much smaller ballroom. You thought that upon witnessing the main dance room you had seen the best part of the palace but this place was even better. You weren't sure how that was possible but you truly couldn't say a word in surprise.
"I had a feeling you were here to have a great dance tonight." the king explained with a wide smile appearing on his face. "It would be a shame to disappoint such a dream."
He gently turned you around. "This room is truly beautiful." You looked into his eyes. The palace's residents' eyes were different, you had decied. You noticed how everyone who seemed to live here had the same maroon eye color. Aro was no different.
"I am glad it lives up to your taste." he began the dance. You could still faintly hear the music from the ballroom. It was enough for you to get lost in his eyes.
This night really felt like a dream. Almost as if none of what you experienced here was real; or normal. The guests with red eyes and the kind of beauty you had never seen before. It felt like you weren't looking at humans. You were surprised you didn't think about this before. But now something in your mind changed. It felt like a small part hidden deep in your brain screamed at you to leave. But who where you to give up such a great opportunity?
Just as you were lost in your thoughts, Aro took a bit of a wider turn and from the corner of your eye you could see that there was a giant mirror on the wall. You wondered how you haven't seen it before. With a small smile you turned your head slightly in it's direction. Only, there was something wrong with it. There was only one person visible. You.
The dancing stopped as your head snapped back to the king; confusion and fear written all over your face. He just looked at you almost lovingly, with great knowledge hidden behind his eyes. You turned your head to the mirror again to see if your eyes had deceived you but there was truly no one else besides you in the reflection. As you turned back to the king again in horror, his lips pressed into a smile. Just as you were about to let go of his hands, you heard screaming coming from the ballroom.
Maybe you should've listened to that distant voice.

“Cara mia, what are you doing?” Felix asks amused as he walks into his room, watching his mate standing on her head.
“I got bored.” Her curly hair fanning around her as she struggles to breathe properly.
“And making the blood rush to your head was your way of lessening that boredom?” He chuckles as she rolls her eyes at him, pushing off of the wall to get up.
“Yes! You weren’t here, how else was I going to occupy my time?” Sitting up she feels dizzy and dazed as the blood rushes back to the rest of her body, “Whhhooaaaa, I think I need to lay down.”
“Come here.” Shaking his head he picks her up with ease, laying her on the bed, “Better?”
“Uummm, ask me again in a few seconds.” Screwing her eyes shut she rubs her forehead gently. He lightly swats her hand away, placing his very cold hand on her forehead. She shivered slightly but relaxed at the change in temperature.
“You do know you could kill yourself if you stay like that for too long?” Worry is etched in his brow as he brushes the hair out of her face.
“Yeah, I know. I read about that in the library- since Aro won’t let me have my phone.” She grumbles, crossing her arms missing her ability to use social media, and her music. At this Felix sighs deeply, fixing her with a look- one she’s seen many times already, “I know, I know- it’s for my own “safety” and the “assurance of your secret”. You’ve told me a bunch of times. I get it, geez.”
She turns away from him glaring at the wall.
Felix knows she misses her family, and technology, and when he explained everything to her she was on board, but that was 3 months ago and she’s getting antsy. It’s a constant fear of his that she’ll get so fed up with everything and leave Volterra- leave him.
He wouldn’t blame her either if she did, how could someone as small, pure, and happy but with someone like him- a literal monster. Sure they spend every waking moment with one another, and he has made his feelings for her clear since the beginning, but she hasn’t.
She’s tried to get close to him, give him hugs or hold his hand, even smiling brightly up at him. Unfortunately Felix doesn’t think it's naturally her- the first two weeks she was in the castle she didn’t talk to him, only stared at him with wide scared eyes whenever he would approach her.
Demetri had been the one to talk to her first, and that put Felix at ease until he heard her laugh for the first time at something his best friend had said. He didn’t talk to Demetri for a few days, much to the trackers dismay. So, Demetri cornered him and was very amused at how jealous Felix was,
“Felix, my friend, she is your mate.”
“I know.”
“Good, because she’s positively smitten with you.”
“…What?”
He just laughed and walked him to the common room, where she sat in a loveseat watching a movie with Heidi. He pushed Felix forward to sit on the loveseat- timidly he motions to the empty space next to his mate. She sends Demetri a glance, and then one to Heidi before nodding her head avoiding his gaze out of sheer embarrassment- not fear.
Leaning down to his friends ear, Demetri whispers,
“She looks scared and her heartbeat is fast, but it’s not out of fear.”
He pats his shoulder reassuringly, before holding his hand out to Heidi who gladly takes it ready to exit the room. His mate panics slightly looking like a scared deer.
“Where are you going?”
“You’ll be fine my dear. You have Felix.” Heidi winks as she leaves with Demetri smiling mischievously.
Neither say anything, just sit as far apart from each other as they can, the air full of awkward tension. She’s so hyper focused on the hulking vampire next to her she can’t even hear the movie anymore. Clearing her throat she turns to face him- she can’t be too sure, but she swears he jumped slightly when she turned towards him,
“Okay, so, like… I know we haven’t talked, ever, but I just want to know if you’re cool with me. Like… are we…cool?”
He stays quiet for a few seconds, basking in the glow that is her. Her flustered state, the sound of her heart- still beating fast, but not like before. The way her dark brown eyes stare back into his red ones, her biting her lip unsure of what his answer will be. Her hair framing around her like a dark halo of curls brushing her shoulders, her sun kissed skin glowing with life and scattered freckles. Blinking once, he nods his head giving her a small smile- hearing her heart skip a beat,
“We’re cool.”
“Great!” She graces him with a bright dimpled smile, turning back to the movie.
He knew he was done in at that smile of hers, he would burn down the world if she asked, and he made up his mind to make sure no harm would ever come to her- he’d hide her away if he had to. And that’s what he did.
She didn’t mind too much, until she had to give up her phone. She ignored him for four days, glaring at him whenever he opened his mouth to speak with her. He sent (begged) Demetri to talk to her, but she turned him away too. Afton made a joke in passing saying if anyone could make the human talk it would be Jane. Felix was livid, but did glance at Jane, who to everyone’s surprise went to the girl’s room.
After an hour, Jane walks arm in arm with his little human, giggling like children, but turning stone face as they lay eyes on Felix.
“You, Felix, are an idiot. You must apologize to her.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Is that a question?”
“I- what did I do wrong?”
“You took something precious from her, so apologize.”
“It’s for her safety, along with ours- you know this!”
“It doesn’t matter. Apologize.”
“…I’m…sorry.”
“Is that sufficient for you?” Jane looks at his mate, brow raised.
“…Yeah, I guess. Thank you Jane.”
“You are welcome. Come, let's go play with my dolls.”
“Okie dokie.”
Dumbfounded, he watches his mate walk off with Jane. Looking to the others, they all put their hands up trying to forget what they just saw. Jane being nice left them more terrified than her using her power, and they weren’t about to question it.
After she finished playing with Jane, she walks to the common room where Felix is shooting pool grumbling to Demetri who looks like he’s at his wits end. Chuckling at the sight the two turn to her and Demetri couldn’t have been more happy.
“I’ll take him off your hands, Demi.”
“Thank you!”
“Come on, Felix. You have so much groveling to do.”
He sighs, but smiles at the smile on her face, knowing she isn’t mad at him anymore. They spent the night talking about everything and nothing, and she made up her mind that she’d try to figure out how to spend her time without her phone- no matter how bad she wanted it.
She was doing well for the first month, Felix thought that would be the end of it, but it wasn’t. There were times when she would reference things he didn’t know, and she’d begin searching for her phone to explain it to him, only to huff out in annoyance remembering she wasn’t allowed one.
She’d become grumpy and he’d leave her to stew in her anger- he didn’t want to, but she made it clear that when she was angry or annoyed the best option is to just let her be. So he did just that. He’d make his way to the common room and stare up at the ceiling listening to her heartbeat and hear her faint cries.
It tore him up inside, and as much as he wanted to make her happy, he knew that was one thing he just couldn’t allow. So it went like this for the next two months, and she became almost distant with him, and his fears grew once again. Putting on a brave face, he would continue to talk with her hoping that their conversations would fill the void- how he wished she was from a simpler time.
Now he needs to know what she’s thinking, what she truly feels… if she wants to leave. He frowns at the back of her head, dreading the answer he’ll receive from his unspoken question. Gently, he turns her back towards him, he can’t stop the smirk at the face she’s making- she’s closed her eyes tightly, slightly sticking out her tongue at him.
“Cara mia, may I ask you a question?”
Her eyes open at the softness of his voice, looking at him with confusion.
“Sure.”
“…Are you… are you happy?”
“Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?” She props herself up on her elbows, furrowing her brow.
“I suppose what I’m asking is… are you happy being here… with me?” He can’t hold her gaze for too long as she looks at him like he’s stupid. He should’ve known- of course she wasn’t happy, if her crying and glaring at him wasn’t evident enough-
“Of course I am.”
It’s his turn to look at her with confusion.
She smiles gently at him, laying on his chest, staring into his eyes,
“Sure, I may be a bit of a brat about not having my phone, not being able to go out and shop- or just walk around, but I have you. You make it more bearable, and I appreciate all you do for me. You put up with my shitty attitude when anyone else would’ve just left, and I’m sorry for the way I act- it’s a learning experience for me for sure. I’m so used to someone fighting me with everything, but you don’t do that, and I love you for that. I just wish that I could really show you how I feel, but you seem to get all stiff whenever I get— what? What’s with that look?”
They stare at each other, both with a look of bewilderment- well his is bewilderment and hers is more along the lines of concern. She glances to the side before looking back at his unblinking eyes, as he sits them up. Taking an unneeded breath, he clears his throat as she shifts uncomfortably.
“What did you just say?”
“Um… ‘what’s with that look’?”
“Before that.”
“You get all stiff’?”
“No, before that.”
“I don’t know…’wish I could show you how I’-”
“Before that.”
“Felix.” She glares at him, getting annoyed.
“Please, just- I’m not sure if I heard you correctly.”
“The guy with super hearing isn’t sure he heard me correctly?” She smirks at him, raising a brow at him. He nods his head with a small smile, looking at her expectantly, sighing as she thinks back on what she said. Her eyes widen as she realizes she said, “I… I love you.”
She’s shy and bashful, as her voice grows smaller repeating the words. Now it’s her turn to avoid his gaze, as she plays with the fuzz on the throw blanket they’re sitting on. She tries to hide behind her curly hair, but he isn’t having it. Brushing it to the side he tilts her up to look at him, searching her face for any kind of lie. Biting her lip she closes her eyes out of sheer embarrassment, making him chuckle.
Eyes still closed, she hits his chest huffing,
“Don’t laugh at me. It’s not funny.”
She moves away from him, feeling as though he’s making fun of her, but he quickly grabs her, placing her on his lap, holding her close. Hiding his smile in her hair, as he whispers in her ear,
“I love you too, Y/N.”
She wraps her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly, hiding her face in his neck- smiling like a mad woman. He hugs her back as tightly as he can if he were human, and they both share a laugh of shock and amusement as their words sink in.
She can feel the cold of him seeping through her clothes, but she welcomes it. They stay like this for a few seconds before she brushes her nose against his neck, lightly pressing a kiss into it, testing the waters. Not getting a negative response from Felix, she kisses his neck again, but with more boldness and she can hear the faintest of purrs coming from him. Smiling to herself she liters his neck, jaw, and cheeks with kisses.
Pressing their foreheads together, they stay watch each other with content smiles,as she places a kiss on his nose. Rubbing her thumb on his cheek, she glances at his lips before looking in his eyes again. He moves ever so slightly forward, not sure if he should- he wants to, he really does, but he has his own doubts clouding his mind.
Not waiting for any more response, she presses her lips to his carefully.
It was almost timid as she did it, but once their lips met, it was as if a floodgate was opened. So much emotion and feeling went into the kiss- her frustrations, his love, her want, his need.
When they pulled away, she was laying back on the bed as he hovered over her- his once red eyes now pitch black, her dark brown eyes with blown pupils. Allowing himself to be pulled down to her, their kiss becomes more sloppy, more needy, more heated. She gasps as she feels cold fingers brush her side, allowing him to deepen the kiss.
Moans slowly fill their room as clothes begin to come off. Left only in their underwear, he asks,
“Are you sure you want this?… You want me?”
She gives him a look of ‘are you stupid’, before rolling her eyes taking his much larger hand in hers, trailing it up her sides, to her chest, and then to her mouth where she sucks on his fingers making him stare at her, mouth agape.
He feels venom pool in his mouth and swallowing quickly he removes his fingers from her mouth, kissing her like his life depended on it. She scratches down his back, smiling at the groan that leaves him. Turning her head to the side for some much needed air, he takes this opportunity to give her neck the same treatment, finding her sweet spot, he lightly nips her making her roll her hips up against him.
Moving down her neck, he leaves open mouth kisses on her chest, stomach and thighs, she squirms as he slowly removes her panties, inhaling her scent.
“Felix, p-please.”
A wicked smile is on his face as he kisses her thighs getting close to where she wanted him, but never touches. Growing frustrated she grabs his hair, glaring at him.
“Stop being an asshole, and just eat me out already.”
“Why should I?” All her growing anger is replaced with shock as he smirks up at her, tracing random patterns on her skin, “You said it yourself, you’ve been a brat. Why should you be rewarded for that?”
Oh…
OH…
okay.
With wide eyes she just stares at him, not knowing what to say or do- sex has never been like this for her. Sure some guys tried it, but it didn’t last long, but now she really doesn’t know what to do. So she says the only thing she can,
“I’m sorry.”
And lays back down staring up at the ceiling, hands folded on her chest.
“I’m afraid, ‘I’m sorry’ isn’t going to cut it.”
She yelps as she’s flipped onto her stomach, ass propped up and the sound of a smack echoing in the room. Eyes still wide she stares at the wall, wondering if that really happened. And when she feels the sting of another hit on her ass, she knows.
Spanking was never a kink of hers, but now it is as she feels herself clench around nothing. Closing her eyes she gasps as his voice deeply says,
“Count.”
“*smack* O-one… *smack* Tw- t- two…” she shifts slightly rubbing her thighs together, “*smack* TH-three~eee… ohmygosh… *smack* four…”
“Louder!”
“Four! Felix please I-”
“Oh, but you will, Tesoro. Now, count.”
“Five!”
He pauses, smiling as he tilts his head in amusement staring at his mates back,
“I haven't done anything yet, Y/N.”
“…oh…” Chuckling, he slaps her ass with a little more force than before, causing her to yelp out, “FI-IVE~”
Once she gets to ten, her ass is stinging and she’s barely holding on to her sanity- who would’ve known she had that kink? She surely didn’t. Felix places kisses up her back kissing her shoulder blade and whispers in her ear,
“You did so well, Y/N.”
She wasn’t planning on making any sound, but the whimper that left her did surprise them both- well that’s another kink to add to the list.
His dark chuckle sends a shiver down her spin as he snakes his hand around to her front, teasing her folds. She begins to pant in need hoping that he’ll stop teasing her and just use her instead, sadly he seems to enjoy messing with her, so she does the one thing she knows will get her what she wants.
Turning her head to look at him over her shoulder, she pouts, glossy dark brown puppy dog eyes, and in a soft needy voice, she says,
“Please, Felix. Please. I need you.”
…Well, who is he to argue with the wants and needs of his mate?
A strained sound escapes him as he stares back at her, with a look of amazement and wonder at how such a creature has come to him. Making her lay on her back, he nudges her legs apart with his knee, staring into her eyes. Aligning himself, he exhales at the feeling of her taking him in completely, neither move as they get used to the feel of each other.
Her walls flutter around him with every breath she takes, and his resolve is slowly slipping. Leaning his forehead into the mattress he groans out as she purposefully clenches around him.
“Y/- Y/N.”
“That’s called pay back.”
He growls lowly at her, before slamming his hips into her, making her cry out.
“No. That’s called pay back.”
She gives no reply, just the sound of her breathing heavily, as she covers her face with her arm, trying to keep a grasp on her sanity. Moving her arm from her face, he takes in her disheveled state- her skin has a thin layer of sweat, her eyes are hooded and her lips are parted as she tries to breathe normally again.
Slowly he pulls out of her- smirking at the whine she gives him- and then slams back in, feeling her walls tighten around him.
“Oh sweet Jesus.”
Laughing lowly, he keeps his same rhythm, taking in the sounds he pulls from her. It’s not long before she feels the coil building ready to snap. With panicked eyes she looks up at him, smiling down at her he caresses her cheek,
“Come for me, Cara mia.”
Her hips stutter as she reaches her high, her mouth hangs open- no sound coming out as she seems to stare past him at the ceiling. He feels himself getting closer at the sight of her and with a few more thrusts he finishes inside her- both pant out at the feeling.
Slowly he pulls out of her- she hisses as he does- he goes and gets a damp cloth, cleaning her up. She doesn’t move, just lays there staring up at the ceiling with tired eyes. Blowing out a raspberry she quips,
“Well, that was embarrassing.”
Panic floods his senses not knowing what exactly she’s talking about.
“I’ve never finished so fast before. I feel like a super horny teenage boy. Damn.”
Blinking down at her, he relaxes, laughing in disbelief at his mate's words. Leaning his forehead against hers, he pulls her close,
“Cara mia, we are far from done.”
Her breath hitches at his words, as she realizes she’s in for a long night, and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
OMG UR CAIUS FIC WAS SO GOOD COULD YOU DO SOMETHING AB ARO PLEASE
a/n: Thank you so much! I’m very excited to write for Aro, he’s one of my favourite characters, more so because of Michael Sheen’s performance. I put a slight reference to something in this, you might catch it if you know other projects Michael Sheen has been in, but you might not, and that’s alright. Hope you enjoy <3
another a/n: I did put one or two feminine terms in this work, such as ‘mia regina’ which is ‘my queen’ in Italian, so do skip over it or replace it with something else if you’d like. I love writing this type of material in the middle of my classes, it adds so much adrenaline to not get caught.

Aro Volturi With A Human Mate
-
Instead of being angry and frustrated like Caius, Aro was more excited.
Like as if he was getting ready for a big party.
A human for a mate was inevitable for some vampires, of course, but Aro didn’t expect to be included in the some.
He was excited since it was rare for such high profile vampires to socialize with humans.
Aro often gushed to his brothers, excited to meet you, but also for them to meet you.
He wanted to host a ball for your welcome.
But Marcus noted that it would probably be slightly frightening for you to be in a room full of vampires.
Most of the vampires would look at you as if you were some sort of a snack.
Because it Marcus’ comment, Aro assumed it would be a greater choice to send an invitation to a tour of the castle.
Free of cost, of course.
When you had received the invitation, you were beyond excited.
An invitation to a tour of an ancient castle with endless legends, for free?
Absolutely.
The tour was the next day, so of course you were slightly nervous.
When the tour commenced, a very pretty woman named Heidi lead the tour group.
She began to speak of secrets of the castle, as well as secret corridors and legends.
Some things a normal tour guide would most likely have no idea about.
Heidi then looked in your direction, and smiled brightly at you.
“It’s very lovely here. I’m sure you’ll love it.”
Just when she had finished her sentence, she opened the doors where there were three men sitting in thrones, and what seemed to be 4 guards.
The man who sat in the middle, greeted everyone and began speaking greatly of the castle.
He had only stopped when he motioned for your tour guide, Heidi, to come forward.
She did as told, and held her hand out towards him.
You would have thought it was to greet him, but it seemed like he was concentrated, or zoned out.
“Magnifico! I will get Demetri to escort them.” (Translation: “Magnificent! I will get Demetri to escort them.”
A man who you assumed was Demetri, walked in your direction.
“Come with me, all will be alright, rest assured. However, do not look behind you.”
You went with him, doing as he said, but immediately turned around when the rest of the tour began screaming.
“What the hell was that?!”
Demetri just grabbed your wrist and brought you upstairs.
“Just stay in here, I’ve been instructed to keep you under my eye. Aro will explain everything to you.”
“Aro?”
“The man who sat in the middle throne.”
You nodded, and decided to sit on one of the window seats.
You wanted to ask Demetri as many questions as you wanted to, but you didn’t want to bother him, or disrupt him from his job.
When the door had opened and Demetri bid his farewells, you had turned around and saw Aro.
“You must be Y/n, correct?”
“Yeah, and you’re Aro?”
“I am, I assume you have a good amount of questions?”
You nodded, and Aro moved swiftly but smoothly towards the opposite side of the window seat.
“May I?”
“Of course.”
He sat opposite to you, and smiled slightly at you.
“There’s no need to be afraid of me, or the others. You’re the most safe you could ever be in the castle. I promise you, I will keep you safe.”
“May I ask why the rest of the tourists were screaming when I left?”
“I sense that that question should be answered later, appropriately.”
You were slightly frightened as to what the final answer would be, it could be anything.
Perhaps there was a reenactment of the past after you had been escorted, one of the tourists got pushed and the rest screamed since one of them fell, or the worst:
They were murdered.
“I feel like I already know what happened.”
“I sense that you do know, too. I will tell you everything in a moment. But for now, would you care to lend me your hand?”
You trusted Aro, though you were positive your ancestors were screaming from above or below not to trust him.
You held your hand out in front of him, and before he held your hand in his own, he asked for permission or something else.
“I want you to think of the happiest memory you have stored in your mind, I will describe it to you. I will not see anything else besides the things you want to show me, unless I have your permission.”
You thought of a memory, and then placed your hand in Aro’s palm.
He covered the back of your hand with the palm of his other hand, then he began telling you small details of your chosen memories you had even forgotten about.
When he was finished, he brought his head up from looking down, and smiled at your face of bewilderment.
“That is so cool! Is that like your superhero power?”
Aro smiled widely at your interest in his gift, and began explaining what his was.
“I have a gift, it’s called tactile telepathy. I can read everyone’s thoughts and memories with a single touch. The others in this coven have multiple different gifts, they help keep us safe.”
“So you’re all like superheroes?”
“Vampires, darling.”
After that, Aro enjoyed seeing your memories whenever you two were apart for some sort of time.
Especially say you were having a difficult time attempting to explain something to him, he would hold your hand and immediately understand what you were trying to say.
“I understand you, cara mia. I always will.”
And he was right, he understands you in every way possible.
Aro memorized your body language on how you react to different things, as well as your facial expressions.
When you’re uncomfortable with something, he will do absolutely everything in his power to make you comfortable.
Aro will burn down the entire world for you.
When it’s time for you to go to sleep, you best believe that Aro set up the most lavish and comfortable room for you.
The best and most comfortable bed, of course.
You lay down on his chest, and he brushes the hair out of your face, admiring your tired eyes looking back at him.
“Would you like for me to read to you, dearest?”
You nodded your head, and Aro would get up from wherever he was seated, swiftly retrieve a book, lay back down next to you, and begin reading.
He loved having you hold his hand while he read, it lets him see what you’re imagining the scene that he’s reading to you.
And when you fell asleep while he was reading, he would be so very content.
You curled up next to him, sound asleep on his chest.
Aro adored seeing what you were dreaming.
He loved how humans brains worked while they were sleeping, keeping your mind entertained with multiple little scenarios.
When you woke up, however, Aro would prefer to have you describe your dreams, if you remembered them.
He loved to learn more about humans, especially in the modern age.
And you loved to learn more about vampires, especially in the ancient times.
Aro would often tell you stories of each coven he encountered, his old family and friends, and his past human life.
As much as he wants you to be changed into a vampire like the rest, he can’t help but smile whenever you got slightly nervous around him, stuttering over your words, and hiding your face with your hands out of embarrassment.
He pays attention to little details about you.
Especially your eyes.
Even the shade of your eyes stops him from changing you. Your eyes wouldn’t be as unique anymore, they’d be the same red as everyone else’s.
“You have the most magnificent shade of colour in your eyes, mia regina. I simply cannot get enough of them.”
Being absolute best friends with Demetri.
But wherever Demetri was, Felix wasn’t too far behind.
You three are like a troublemaker trio, always causing trouble and pulling pranks on different members of the guard.
Never Jane or Alec, though. Unless it was a scheduled board game night or something along the lines.
Which Alec loved to take away different players senses, allowing him to cheat in the games you’d play.
He doesn’t do it all the time, though.
Marcus was a lot more welcoming towards you, perhaps more than anyone else.
Whenever Aro couldn’t, he’d show you different areas of the castle you hadn’t seen yet, and would give you wonderful pieces of advice along the way.
“Remember to stay true to yourself, never let anyone think for you.”
Aro will spoil you insanely.
If you mention a specific piece of clothing even once, you better expect that when you wake up the next morning, Aro has an elegantly wrapped package placed at the foot of your bed with a note written in fine handwriting.
“Mia amato, I have seen you speak of this article of fabric, and I have gone out of my way to make sure you have every little thing you admire. I need you to be the happiest you can possibly be. Please accept my gift, and meet me by the gardens by noon. I’ll see you then. Cordialmente, Aro.”
You two have annual walks throughout the garden, usually during golden hour. The sun still above, but setting at the same time, making it seem like Aro was made of a trillion Tiffany Yellow Diamonds.
He loved finding a flower that suited your mood for the day, and putting it behind your ear.
“My beautiful.”
You two often walked either arm in arm, or hand in hand, but sometimes you would hold him closer with your arm wrapped around his waist, your head leaning on his side or shoulder.
Often times, when the moon is visible, you would slow dance together, looking at each other with smiles on your faces, just appreciating each other’s presence.
Usually, Aro would come back into the castle around 2 in the morning, carrying your sleeping self up to your shared room, after you had fallen asleep on his shoulder while sitting in the garden.
The rest of the kings and guards would be predominantly more happy than from before you had arrived.
You had given Aro something to look forward to after trials and mountains of work, something he didn’t have for hundreds of years.
Though, Caius was still slightly jealous of you.
You had practically stolen one, if the not the most, needed member of the vampire world. Aro was nearly as focused on you than he was on trials and legislature.
He’d warm up to you eventually.
At least, you hoped.
Speaking of trials, you wanted to sit in and watch the trials, to see what it was about, and how it worked.
You knew the most of it, of course, Aro had already told you. But you wanted to see it live.
Aro was quick to say no, he didn’t want you to get hurt, or worse, killed.
He understood what would happen to him if his mate was killed, Marcus was the example. He couldn’t even bear the thought of you not being by his side.
Though, you owning the key to his heart, convinced him to let you watch, letting both Jane and Alec stay on either side of you, protecting you if anything were to go wrong.
You would usually sit on Aro’s lap, and then the throne when he had to see what was truly going on by using his gift.
Jane usually stood on the left of the throne, and Alec on the right.
Mainly since Caius sat on the throne in the left, and Jane loved to torture the criminals.
He loved the front seat view.
Constant look backs of reassurance to make sure that you’re alright.
Nearly always having your hand in his.
Forehead kisses.
Constantly bringing the back of your hand up to his lips.
Getting the absolute best care in the world, health wise especially.
When Aro proposed, it was in the bedroom the both of you share, and he was reading some poetry to you.
All was going swell, and then he got to one page.
“I can write no stately poem
As a prelude to my lay;
From a poet to a poem
I would dare to say.
For if of these fallen petals
One to you seem fair
Love will waft it till it settles
On your hair.
And when wind and winter harden
All the loveless land.
It will whisper of the garden,
You will understand.”
At the end, you were leaned up closer to him, looking at him in awe.
He closed the book, and placed it aside gracefully, before leaning slightly closer to you. Placing his hands overs yours.
“Do you remember who wrote that, cara mia?”
“I do. That’s Oscar Wilde, right?”
“That’s right. There’s so much I want to say to you, especially in this particular moment, but I don’t think there’s enough words to express my love and affection towards you. I’ve known you for a little while, and I can feel the bond between us, and I know you can feel it, too. The universe has guided us together, and I am so very thankful for every second we have spent together, and I’m even more thankful for the rest of eternity we have. However, I am the most thankful of the fact that I have the most gorgeous human as a mate. I love you so much, anima mia. Will you do me the best thing that could ever happen to me in my thousands of years, and marry me?”
You said yes, obviously, who wouldn’t?
You leaned over to press your lips against his, as he held one side of your face with one hand, and the other hand slid a ring on your ring finger.
While Aro wanted an extremely lavish wedding, with all the diamonds in the world, you wanted something more of a homely essence.
So you compromised, and had a bit of both.
Aro invited nearly every vampire to the wedding, wanting to show you off in every way he could.
The Denali’s, Cullens, Irish coven, everyone was invited.
Except for the Romanian coven, Vladimir and Stefan. Not trusting them to be in your presence.
The wedding was held in the garden, the arch where Aro stood had your favourite flowers intertwining around it, with diamonds pressed in the centre of each individual flower.
Demetri walked you down the isle, smiling proudly when he handed you over to Aro.
Proud that his leader had finally found true love, and that one of his best friends is finally where they need to be.
After the official wedding ceremony, the rest of the night and day were spent smiling and showing off each other to the guests.
When the night ended, it was finally time for you to be changed to a vampire.
Aro sat by the bed were sitting on, making sure that you were absolutely ready to be converted to a vampire for the rest of eternity.
“Are you ready, my darling?”
You nodded your head, and Aro took one final look into your coloured eyes, attempting to remember every small detail of them.
Aro then moved your hair away from your neck, before placing his lips over where he would finally bite down and turn you immortal.
