The beginning of a productive day
I applied for a couple of EVS programs
I made lunch for my family
I studied with my little brother
And I organized a few things for my political party

As a human...
You're allowed to have bad days. You're allowed to be in a bad mood. You're allowed to be angry. You're allowed to be irrational. You're allowed to be upset. You're allowed to feel hurt. You're allowed to feel things, good and bad. You're allowed to hold an unpopular opinion. You're allowed to make mistakes. You're allowed to fail. You're allowed to feel jealous. You're allowed to feel lonely. You're allowed to want to be loved. You're allowed to want to give love. You're allowed to feel heartbroken.
So don't ever let people try to tell you what you should and shouldn't feel. Go through the emotions, feel the things you're told to avoid, give it some time, and go back out there stronger than ever. Don't give up. Repeat.
Now if you feel completely lost and alone. Remember that there are kind souls all around you. Just take these following people as a example that you are never alone. There will be always someone out there to help you.
Today I had a phone interview with Farm Sanctuary! I believe they’re one of, if not the biggest sanctuary programs in the US! I’m really hoping I get accepted into their internship program.
I’d be staying on the grounds of their northern California shelter for two months. I’d be doing things such as cleaning, taking care of the animals, assisting with vet checks, events, things like that. It would be such a great opportunity!
And if I’m REALLY lucky, then they’d offer me a full time position there after the Internship! Which I would just absolutely love, love, LOVE! I’m not entirely sure I’d be 100% content with leaving my family and life here, but I’m sure I’d get used to the idea eventually.
Anyway, I shouldn’t get too ahead of myself, I haven’t even been officially accepted yet. But the woman I spoke to on the phone seemed to have really liked me. She was very happy with my application, saying that I have good qualifications with all of the animals I’ve had as pets and other volunteer things I’ve done, and that I’d be a perfect fit for the program!
I’ll keep you guys posted on whether or not I get it. Wish me luck!
Self-isolation day No. 76
I'm done with all of my exams. So I'll chill till the next semester. Haha... Just kidding. I have to learn all the vocabulary again and get ready to move around. Because I plan to participate in a volunteer program in the Netherlands.

The article, authored by Kit Perez and published on The Armory Life, discusses the importance of volunteer work in preparing individuals for survival situations, particularly through service in fire departments, EMS, and search and rescue units. Participation in these organizations can provide invaluable skills and experience in handling emergencies and disasters. For instance, volunteer firefighting offers training in CPR, vehicle extrication, emergency medical services, and more, often at no cost. Similarly, EMS service provides real-time medical response training, and search and rescue (SAR) involves specialized skills for wilderness and urban scenarios. The article emphasizes the mutual benefits of volunteering: while communities gain dedicated support in critical situations, volunteers receive extensive preparation for emergencies.
