Posted onto the city’s announcement broad with thin pieces of tape on all four of its edges, this ‘poster’ was just dull and uninteresting in the eyes of many...but it would catch your interest?

OOC

The Silvermoon Library guild was founded by the mun of Iria Daerienne. Who used the guild as a broad platform for new writers in our community, to share their works and to host fun events that brought people together. 

But sadly after experiencing a difficult phase of her life, the library stopped its regular public services/events, but now... we are doing our best to bring back its old services once more!

SEEKING (OOC&IC INFO):

Assistants/Librarians (OOC&IC Jobs)

*The job of Assistants and Librarians are quite similar. Their IC jobs are what real Librarians would do...helping the users of the library in every way they can, but when OOC...*

IC: Helping users of the library with your own storyline of being a librarian *Part-time or Full time.* (Rp)

OOC: Helps with the running of the library’s Tumblr and Twitter page>Seeks out new writers daily and help broadcast their works>Reblogs existing RP events>In game officers.

Scholars (OOC&IC Jobs)

*To be a scholar within the library, you do not have to join the guild. Just please message anyone in the staff group your Tumblr link, and we will broadcast it for you and follow you so we may help you whenever you are in need.*

IC: The choice is all yours!

OOC: Lets the library broadcast their works> Might be asked to speak in events>Just be whatever you want to be!

Professors (OOC&IC Jobs)

*Teachers...mentors.. of any field are welcome to use the library to expand their knowledge or to seek out students. (Rp partners) Now looking at the OOC side of the title ‘Professor’...they also do not have to join the guild to get their work broadcast by us.*

IC: Teach! and continue on your studies! (If you are seeking for an idea, please do message the planning team.)

OOC: Lets the library broadcast their works> Are welcome to hold lessons within the guild or host public teachings with the library’s full support> Mentor for newcomers>Might be asked to speak in events.

Planning Team (OOC&IC Jobs)

*In game the Planning Team members can be whatever they want to be and can hold the title of Assistant, Librarian, Scholar or Professor while on the team, because their jobs is mostly OOC.*

IC: The choice is all yours!

OOC: Create and plan events> Helps with the running of the library’s social pages> Offers help to events that are in need> Are welcome to lead their own events>Offers ways to improve the library services>In game officers.

Requirements

All race/level are welcome.

Open-minded

Willing to help new or struggling rpers/writers

Willing to work with a team and maybe other guilds. ( For Assistants. Librarians and Planning Team.)

Unafraid to ask for help whenever in need.

Willing to accept suggestions to better up events. (For Planning Team)

*And a personality that’s ready to deal with an inexperienced leader, to give him suggestions or comments... on how to do his job better.*

Others

The library is planning to open up three new discord servers...

A public server for anyone, who is in need of a heart to heart chat or wish to give the library staffs... event ideas, suggestions, and names of new writers or characters. Allowing us to help them start their wonderful journey of roleplaying in WRA.

The second server is for guilds, who are willing to maybe work or host events with the library and other active guilds. *I’m not sure about this yet, because there may be already a server open for active guilds to chat in...and if that is the case..I want in! PLEASE.*

The last server is for the planning team and the members of the library. *This will be a private server...I will talk to members who are interested one by one.*

THE SELFIE MARATHON

Foreword

This event is still in its early stages of planning, so if you have any ideas on how to better up the event. Please don’t be shy to voice them or message me about it.

Introduction

Haven’t been hosting any events as of late, The Silvermoon Library is back with a fascinating event for you all to enjoy this summer. A big marathon but with a fun twist to it and a few surprises after it. (Is still seeking willing guilds to host this event with.)

What?

Unlike most marathons that had been hosted on WRA recently, the SELFIE Marathon requires you to have a camera or team up with someone that has one and is willing to partake in this experience with you. (The official path of the marathon is still under planning, so again...if you have a place/zone in mind. Don’t be shy to tell us.) A list of ‘landmarks’ with pictures would be posted a week before the event and whoever wishes to join will need read through it, so on the day of the run they may seek out those places and take a selfie in front those landmarks. (All landmarks will be along the main path of the marathon.)

Why?

The world of Azeroth is actually a very beautiful place, but sometimes we seem to forget and just spend our time in the main cities and such. I hope in the use of this event, we can all explore a little and maybe discover new spots to RP at. (Besides this is just a very light-hearted event for all to enjoy.)

Prizes?

We can’t all just run around for nothing right? Now don’t you worry about that. As we will be rewarding the most interesting selfies with fun toys and a good amount of gold.  (Got an idea for a prize? Tell us!)

Lastly, the judging won't be done by us. Since we are asking the runners to upload their pictures onto Tumblr. All the Library will be doing is just re-blogging them, so that means the real judges will you all. (Reblog&Likes= 1 point each.)

Afterwards?

Summer is all about picnics, to enjoy the sun with a breeze blowing through your hair and we will be doing just that, but under the moonlight. After enjoying a few events leading up to it. (The timetable is almost finished surprisingly, but we are still seeking guilds with events and are willing to host this with us.)

WRITERS AWARD

(THIS EVENT NEEDS THE HELP OF EVERYONE! PLEASE REBLOG, SO IT SPREADS AROUND TO EVERYONE!)

ABOUT:

Writers Award is an event, where we as a whole community take the time to recognize several individuals for their unique story-line or the time and effort they had put into different areas of our community. IC&OOC.

HOW THINGS WILL WORK:

(There is no way that me and my assistants can decide on who to give the awards to...So we are asking for your help right now and here is how things will work for us all.)

1. A list of interesting titles will be posted soon on our page. (Example Titles: Most Desirable Male/Female Character, King Of Evil, Joker Of Jokes and etc.)

2. For each title, we are asking for at least 8 Nominees. (Nominees names can be sent to us in an ask formation or submission.)

3. The list of titles would be posted again, but this time with 8 or more names. (If you see your name in this phase and do not wish to take part of the awards. Please message the library or me.)

4. FINAL ONLINE POLL

5. It’s only when we get all of the results for each and every title. The date and time for the main event would be released to the public.

WHY:

It’s my deepest pain to admit...that our RP community is no longer growing but shrinking. With amazing writers leaving every week without a hint of regret because they believe the time they had put into our community was meaningless, or the downright depressing fact of no one ever noticing them...even when they are gone.

So this event isn’t a popularity contest, but a way to show the writers still working hard in the community, that we enjoy every one of them and we are grateful for their amazing works. It’s a THANK YOU event.

REQUEST:

Wanting to open up this event to the Alliance side of the community as well. I am still seeking for a Alliance partnership, and if anyone has the desire or the time to help us out...my planning team welcomes you with open arms because we still need the following;

WRITERS FAIR *CHANGES*

INTRODUCTION

Greetings everyone, this is the <Edit Team> of the Silvermoon Library, and we are pleased to inform you all. That some significant changes to our upcoming event have already been made, base on the concerns we got yesterday from the whole community.

CHANGES

NAME: <Writers Awards> to <Writers Fair>

ABOUT: Writers Fair is an event, where we as a whole community take the time to recognize each other for their hard work or the time and effort they had put into different areas of our community. IC&OOC.

HOW THINGS WILL WORK *Important Changes*

1. A list of interesting titles will be posted soon on our page. (Example Titles: Most Desirable Male/Female Character, King Of Evil, Joker Of Jokes and etc.) with a short description describing it.

2. For each title, we are asking for as many nominees as possible until the stated deadline. (Nominee’s names are to be submitted to us with a piece of personal writing, best showcasing the title we listed. Everyone is welcome to send in their own work as well.)

3. The list of titles would be posted again, but this time with only links to the writing pieces, that were submitted to us. (The name of the author would be removed from the article with its title.)

4. Everyone who wishes to partake in the event would be asked to read the writing pieces on the second list. To then pick out what they believe is the highlight article of each title without knowing who the author is. (The articles would be labeled with numbers.)

5. With the results in, the date and time for the event would be posted.

BASIC RULES

1.To avoid the leak of names, we would be asking the submitter&author to remain quiet towards their own writing piece, and if an article’s name is leaked into the public...we would be removing it from the voting.

2. You are allowed to submit more than one name/pieces for as many titles as you desire, but a link to their work must always be provided.

3. If you see your work on the list but do not wish to partake in the event. Please do not voice it out loud but message the library by Tumblr, Twitter or our email. We shall remove it for you.

CONCERNS

As much as we appreciate the ones who voiced out their concerns, we are now begging for you to message us privately if you have more concerns...because negativity spreads fast like wildfire and positivity piles up slowly like falling snow.

This event...really wasn't purposely made to spread negativity throughout the community by wanting to award just one group of people or to hurt anyone’s feelings.

But...we are still deeply sorry and would be providing ways for anyone in the community to join our planning team for our future events to avoid the drama we caused this week.

And lastly, if you have any more questions about the event, the Library would be hosting a Q&A on Tumblr/Twitter very soon, but if it's critical... like the offer of an Alliance Partnership, please message @draenis as soon as possible.

To those who voiced their concerns on the event post, I never meant to offend you all, but your concerns are not unsought of... in the planning process of this event. Since I had already several people on my own team voicing concerns similar to you all.

Now let's talk about key issues and the solutions that my team had thought of.

ISSUES

New writers not getting recognized: It’s true...newer writers would have a much lower perception of getting an award than those writers who had already branch out in the many areas of our community.

But I do not agree with the idea to change the event entirely for new writers because the very definition of ‘award’ is an act to bestow to those deserved, merited or needed.

Now don’t get me wrong, newer writers do deserve the awards like anyone else, but awards can’t be given to them out of pity. Awards are to be earned.

Advance writers: These writers are the most popular bunch and the group who had given up the most time in our community.  They are also the group of people. Who... everyone thinks is going to earn the most reward because of their popularity.

That might be true...but after seeing the concerns of everyone on our first post, I am no longer worried.

Hurt feelings: This part is my main fear.... but I have come to the terms, that I can’t make everyone happy. There is no way for this event to recognize everyone out there in the community but... I can’t cancel it now...not after all of the hard work and effort that my whole team and partners had put into it. *3 months and still planning.*

And like what the mun of @illuminest just told me...this isn’t a job for us...this is just a hobby. So please do understand and do not send hate to the members.

SOLUTIONS

The number one solution is to add an additional part to the whole event, like the Rising Star Award. An idea not only thought by one of my team members but by the person who voiced their concerns first.

As all morning... I have been reaching to those who expressed their concerns in the most positive way, and they have all helped me to bring out the group of people I needed the most for the event to actually work.

But what hit me the hardest was the post made by @netherstray, so I reached out to the mun first, and we are planning to make things better.

APOLOGY

Finally, I like to apologize as I failed to state that there would be a few rules on the names submission... As a piece of writing most suited for the title must be presented, and it would be posted in the form of a link beside the muse’s name on the second list. (Again you wish to not partake in the event, just message us, and we will take your name off.)

Many now must be thinking...how does this make things better? Friends can still vote for friends....Guilds can vote for guilds, but you know what...I have faith in our community... that it won't happen, especially after seeing so many people voicing their concerns and many individuals agreeing to them.

I do not regret making this event. We already made the community a better place for us all, and many are now helping to edit the event into a more positive one.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

(Please reblog to help spread this notice, as it covers a quite significant change for the Silvermoon Library.)

As many of you are well aware, Head Librarian Iridoria is on a break currently. Facing a few issues on her own, until she can feel better enough to rejoin us, in this still on-going project of The Silvermoon Library.

So in her time of absence. I, Draenis Sunstrider will be taking on the role of “Head Librarian” just to keep things on track for her. Running everything correctly without fail.

BUT there will be some changes. Purely due to the fact, that I’m not as amazing as Iridoria or have the abilities even close to her’s in the knowledge of leadership. 

Please do bare with me within the period that she is unavailable, and while I provide one more piece detailing about Draenis’s background, like how this all came to be, then with a few posts about seeking new assistants, as I can’t get a hold of the former ones.

After all of the necessary preparation are done. The library will continue to provide its regular services and content.
