yeah sure, his name is michael and he’s p much the only guy i am posting abt here

the long and short of it is that hes a himbo that got stuffed with crippling anxiety. overly afraid of hurting people. hinges his self worth on how useful/wanted he is

he’s originally human, who was unwillingly turned into a vampire and then after about a year had an incident that sparked him to figure out how to make himself look like a fishman. hes still pretty young for a vampire. year and a half maybe?

part of it is because he really loves the ocean, and so looking like that makes him happier/more content in himself, part of its in imitation of this cool-ass eldritch fish creature he ended up fucking (the incident in question), and some of its taking back control of his body, in a way. he was murdered, for all intents and purposes. in a place where vampires are recognized and theres supposed to be legal protections about unlawful turning.

he’s struggled (and still does, really) with having his shapeshifting work out of his control, which exemplified the panic he has about being turned against his will. its his first intentional, drastic transformation. (and the gills, which are cosmetic and exposed unlike a real fish’s would be, actually purposefully go over and hide his bite scar)

he has worryingly low regard for himself. but if he looks like something he thinks of fondly (fish, the sea) then its easier to look at himself with kindness and listen when people say they care about him.

he has a lot of complicated feelings about the vampirism. most of them not good. but what i keep coming back to in particular is how his new need for life force, his loneliness, and his pre-existing hypersexuality all crossed wires to result in him mixing his affection with hunger and sexual attraction. its hard for him to distinguish now, which incredibly frustrates him and makes him guilty that he desires to hurt people

except he keeps meeting people who respond to “i want to eat you alive” with “you should do it” and every single time hes baffled and flustered

It would work better for Hard Vore than Soft Vore, but consider a Cleaner tiny for a giant pred?

The tiny cleaner can pretend to be prey and lure in other prey for their pred to gobble up. Then the Cleaner can crawl into their mouth and feast on the scraps stuck in their teeth.

Something I find really appealing in vampire preds is that there's much to be done with the idea of having to eat people. (Also just with vampires. There's dozens, if not hundreds of varying vampire versions out there! )

As fun as vore is in general, for me there's this extra oomph when I know that the pred eating people is not restricted to habit or want. It's a need. Their health and wellbeing relies upon it. Theres no way around it; one way or the other, a pred's gotta eat. And it's gotta be someone.

Maybe they don't like that, maybe they don't care, maybe they find joy in it? Who knows! That's what makes it so fun. But most of all, it is the appeal and dynamic of considering... all of the importance food has in our lives. As nourishment, as an object to obtain, something to share in company, so on and so forth-- and apply all of it to a person. Does the pred still consider them a person? Is all of a food's symbolism applied in conjunction to their personhood?

There's also the romanticism of someone wanting a person so badly, in such a way that it becomes crucial to survival. It can be used in very sweet or horrific ways, depending on the angle.

And this transitions into my specific version of vamps:

When I write vampires, I write them with the underlying constant that their bodies inherently want to eat, or are seeking life. The same as human bodies instinctually and passively breathe-- a vampire is a magical and life sink, passively drawing in what there is around them. Implicitly, their bodies want to eat until there's nothing left. They want to break down whatever prey they can get their hands on. (Of course, whether the vampire actually agrees with their body is another matter.) Sounds like heartbeats, smells like blood and sweat, sensations like organic warmth, and other life-related stimuli are things they're naturally more tuned into.

Vampires being something evolved to hunt and prey upon sapient organisms. Built to eat in whatever way that they see fit. Very fun.
