Kamala is a cop

I like to use additive statements, so let’s expand on what you’ve said, shall we?

Yes: Kamala Harris was a district attorney and attorney general before running for Senate.

AND Also: Kamala has advocated for descheduling cannabis, supports paths to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, pushed the Justice in Policing Act, opposed cash bail, and supported ending mass incarceration.

All of those policy proposals will contribute to reducing over-policing in America. And that’s the goal right? I’m a goal focused person, so I’m having a hard time understanding what your goal is with your message, because I know what my goal is in supporting this ticket. To repeat what I said before: Moral purity is worth nothing when it means that thousands of people are unnecessarily dead.

There will be no perfect candidate. I’m going to disagree with any politician on some things. But if we can agree on most things? If we can work to help the most people, maintain the most programs, save the most lives? I’m in.

Sometimes self-care looks like only checking the news once a day.

Sometimes it’s focusing less on what irrational, despicable things someone does or says everyday, multiple times a day, because it brings hate into your heart and keeps you up at night.

Sometimes self-care looks focusing instead on how you can show people in your life compassion, how you can show strangers kindness, all as an antidote to the brazen cruelty that you read about.

And sometimes it looks like meditating for a few minutes, feeling gratitude for what you have (including for me that new wine opener I just purchased) and opening a bottle of Malbec for a glass or two of wine (or whatever you like to drink) while you make plans for future travels.
