Oh no I don't doubt, what I mean is that there seems to be an assumption that top sherlock can only be a) problematic/dubcon or b) out of character. But then in so many fics I've read, there have been implications that John is the (I really hate using these terms I'm sorry) dom and therefore all these problematic dubcon issues are washed over, not even acknowledged by author or reader purely because John is the dom, therefore the 'man', therefore can do whatever the hell he wants, type thing. I know this isn't the case in all scenarios, but I see it a lot and it disturbs me the most, because of the fact it's not acknowledged. It seems to be the 'norm' in a lot of top John fics. I just hate the whole idea of placing people/characters into gender stereotyped (and it IS gender stereotyped) sexual behaviour categories, where one is the man, one is the woman, etc. Like I said, I know it's not the same in all fics, but there is definitely a recurring theme and I really think it's something that needs addressing, as it only reinforces harmful gender/sex ideologies.

I can say with absolute certainty I've been unfollowed by mutuals for calling John trash which is like so funny to me like ashfjnblafsg i'm john's biggest fan

exactly!! like u can always talk about stuff that you don't like and have opinions, but dedicating a blog to it and talking about it 24/7 is not good for you! it just makes you more mad/sad/whatever. i don't understand. i just don't understand.
